PRT has purchased their own first NFI XD60s with Frame less windows and full roofline extension as of this month since the 2022 rebranding. 3500 series in PRTX livery and they entered revenue service. Unsure if the units have 6-speed manual gearbox on the floor.

The fleet numbers are #3500-3530 for XD60 2024 order according to Wikipedia.

Pretty sure all the 2009 and 2010 buses are all retired now. Possibly some of the 2011 ones as well. I feel like the list for PRT is not being maintained as much lately. I don't have wiki access, or any information besides what comes over the location tracking API. But I couldn't imagine they have 15 year old buses in service.

Also PRT has added 15 NFI XE60 NG Artics in their new fleet. 8000 series in new PRTX livery with frameless windows

Here's the Fleet Update for Pittsburgh Regional Transit as of this month; bus operator confirmed that to me yesterday via email. 

The 2009 Gillig Low Floor Diesels 40' #5626-5679 are retired and no longer in service. 

 

 

2009-11 Gillig Low Floor HEVs 40' #5701-5733 are retired and no longer in service. 

 

 

The oldest busses in service are as of November 2024:

2011 Gillig Low Floor Diesel #5801 is the only one active; #5802-5824 are retired. 

 

 

2012 Gillig Low Floor 40' #5901-5945; some of the units are in the process of being retired.

The new inventory update since the merger 2 years ago in 2022:

The 2024 NFI XD60 #3501-3597; first busses purchased under the New Pittsburgh Regional Transit banner. Majority delivered so far are split between East Liberty and West Mifflin Garages; buses still being delivered into 2025. Has larger taillights and frame less windows. 

 

 

The 2024 NFI XE60 #8001-8015; Only seen operating out of East Liberty so far; buses still being delivered into 2025. Has Larger Taillights and frameless windows. 

 

And a quick update:

The 2021 Gilligs #6701-6740 have Allison B400R Transmissions instead of Voith transmissions

# 7001 was involved in an accident last night. Significant damage to both vehicles - including front end damage to the bus, not sure if the bus will be repaired or written off.
