The TTC has awarded New Flyer with contracts for 134 40ft hybrid electric buses and 68 60ft hybrid electric articulated buses to be delivered by the end of 2023. See page 4 of the report.

Interesting that they chose New Flyer over Novas for most of the hybrid order. I wonder if that means they solved their qualm about not being supplied a master parts list.

These XDE40s should look identical to the XE40s if I’m not mistaken

Just a wild guess is that they might have framed windows but will retain the BRT roofline. Look at the 3400s for example.

The 60 electric buses all have frameless windows.

Now the XDE60s will probably look sleek cause it’s something new for the ttc considering we only have Nova artics

Closest reference in Ontario is this.
Based on looks only since HSR's are CNGs.

TTC has used frameless windows on 60 electric buses, so probably it will be a basic configuration on the future buses ?

The only difference will be the location of the HVAC unit. I presume that they will get with the current standard of a roof mounted HVAC to the rear mounted style of the XE40

The electric flyer actually has both.

one unit for passenger comfort, the rear mounted one is for battery thermal management.

Hopefully it’s the 4one Aries seating MiWay and some other agencies have, those are pretty comfy imo

It’ll probably be the same seats as the Nova hybrids and the XE40s the TTC has

Correct. End of 2023 would be the end of Q4 2023.

Those are in terrible shape, everything is loose and rattling the bus apart.  It might be the way HSR maintains them. 

I haven't ridden Mississauga's version so I can't comment.

Hamilton's roads are rougher compared to Toronto, so by default buses will rattle more.

The TTC Orions VII's were/are rattle machines, but the Nova LFS have held up remarkably well when it comes to that. But it may have to do with the suspension, its much more comfortable on the Nova LFS. I haven't ridden anything else to compare.

Did TTC release a report where we can see the specs on the buses? I know MiWay and some other American agencies have done it, also is their a possibility the XDE60s will have rear windows?
