PrimeTio Posted February 14, 2022 Report Posted February 14, 2022 (edited) To prevent spam on the MiWay thread, and considering we don't have a retirement thread for MiWay, I've decided to create one myself. This thread should only be used for sightings, and retirements for all buses in the fleet. Mar_AC_23 Posted February 14, 2022 Report Posted February 14, 2022 Some of the writing on your post is a bit hard to read. I'm using the dark theme, and some of your words and numbers are showing up in black.
H4 5600 Posted February 14, 2022 Report Posted February 14, 2022 Some corrections for your list: -0566, 0567, 0568 are black, but should be green -Buses that are still active, but are marked retired on your list: 0541, 0569, 0572 -Buses that are retired, but marked active on your list: 0527, 0540, 0570 -MIA (missing in action) buses: 0510, 0533, 0601, 0611, 0651, 1068

Because Council was waiting for the feds to kick in and not willing to fund them, other wise they were to be replace in 2018. They will be the oldest batch since MT moved from 18 years to 12 year cycle and then to 15 years due to lack of funding from the city. Then all new buses are to be hybrid that cost more than diesel and that increase the cost of replacing the buses that has to come from some place without the city raising the budget % for transit that will have an effect on other departments as well raise the tax bill. It could mean cut in service which is poor now. Everything under 2007 should have been replace years ago with the 2007 due this year other than the articulated that have to be replace every 12 years. 2003 will be about 18/19 years old when replace with the 2005's at 17/18 years and the 2006 at 16/17 years. Unlike the US that see buses replace every 12 years if funded by the fed's, Canadian systems have a longer replacement time based on funding. Have seen a few US systems with buses over 12 years that were funded by the Fed's. Seen a number of systems with 18 years plus old not funded by the Fed's. Once the city moves to the E buses, that replacement cost will be a lot higher and will have a greater impact on the tax bill.
PrimeTio Posted February 15, 2022 Author Report Posted February 15, 2022 0307 is out on the 108, pretty cool seeing a 03 D40LF hauling ass on the 401.
PrimeTio Posted February 16, 2022 Author Report Posted February 16, 2022 2151, 2152 and 2153, have been parked at CX for quite sometime. 2152 was driven by a worker 2 weeks ago but no sign of it returning back to service.
PrimeTio Posted February 18, 2022 Author Report Posted February 18, 2022 0601 returned back to service on the 15th after being MIA for 8 months. 1
H4 5600 Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 1068 returned to service today on route 103. 1
Articulated Posted March 12, 2022 Report Posted March 12, 2022 Just now, PrimeTio said: 1134 has been involved in a Collision with a car while on route 1. Not sure about the injuries but hope everyone’s ok. Just because a bus has been involved in a collision does not mean that it will be retired. In the vast majority of collisions, the bus will only have minor or non-existent damage, and be returned to service in a few days. 1

PrimeTio Posted March 15, 2022 Author Report Posted March 15, 2022 0601 had a fire today, no other details but the bus is a write off. 1
TTC Guy Posted March 15, 2022 Report Posted March 15, 2022 6 hours ago, DiltonPlayz said: 0601 is still listed as Active. Where did the fire happen? I want some details to read about like a story! Unfortunately for you, editors have lives outside of CPTDB and prioritize those over this forum. Instead of asking these questions, I’m sure a simple Google search like “Miway bus fire 2022” or “Miway bus fire March 2022” will answer your questions in a format you like. 1

Got a question, where can I get some old MiWay paper buses, like ones from 2004, 2006/2008 and 2010.. (Orion V, D40LFR and Orion VII NG HEV in Presto wrap and stuff) Google 1
TTC Guy Posted March 15, 2022 Report Posted March 15, 2022 2 hours ago, DiltonPlayz said: No, I meant like where can I get ones that were made BY MiWay, NOT on google. You overestimate how many vehicles Miway prints. If you want specialty stuff like that, you’ll have to custom make them. Please use the channels for their intended purpose instead of the questions you’ve been asking that can just as simply be Googled 1 1
PrimeTio Posted May 14, 2022 Author Report Posted May 14, 2022 All 31+ buses which were parked at Malton for 2 years have now been scrapped. 0601 is now the only bus parked at the Malton deadlot.
PrimeTio Posted August 20, 2022 Author Report Posted August 20, 2022 Sorry for the inactivity but here are all the current retirements which are parked at Malton waiting for disposal. Root Admin ORION Posted October 3, 2022 Root Admin Report Posted October 3, 2022 #1359 should be returned to Mississauga Transit in the near future, it was running under its own power the other day at Cityview. 2
PrimeTio Posted January 2, 2023 Author Report Posted January 2, 2023 I've updated the last on buses which have been retired. Unfortunately a handful of buses have already been sent for scrap lately and I haven't gotten the fleet number yet. The above list isn't accurate yet!
Ed T. Posted January 3, 2023 Report Posted January 3, 2023 I saw an 03?? being towed yesterday, northbound on Brown's Line from Lake Shore. Might that be a retired bus being towed away for scrap, or one that broke down somewhere on one of the MiWay routes serving the SE corner of Mississauga? I thought it might be 0304, but don't hold me to that.
