BusTraveler96
Fairfax Connector employees, ATU Local 689, and Transdev have settled on a new (tentative) contract that will (hopefully) end the 2-week-long strike. Hope this gets approved soon. I want full service restored as soon as tomorrow! https://wtop.com/fairfax-county/2024/03/fairfax-connector-workers-union-reaches-agreement-with-transdev-that-would-end-strike/ https://www.ffxnow.com/2024/03/05/breaking-fairfax-connector-workers-reach-agreement-that-could-end-strike/ 1

BusTraveler96
You can say good-bye to the D40LFRs. Only 9713 is left. Also, 7928 is the the highest 2024 XD40 right now. 1
OrionVII3032
Yep... 9740 is officially finished. 9713 was out last Monday morning on the 624/634 lines, it only has been coming out during the morning rush hours lately for some reason. 9769 (the last active D35LFR) was last tracked on the 461/466 last month, a day before the strike occurred. 1

Rob S
Saw 7905 this morning on the 402.  Appears to be a 2023 model since it had the year next to the bus number.
OrionVII3032
Yesterday I rode 7906 on the 321 towards Van Dorn, and they’re pretty much the same as the previous Xcelsiors starting from 2021. However the padding on the seats on these are different this time. 3

Here's a question, does FFC repaint their buses? I noticed most of the older 2011-2013 Xcelisors have not been repainted since delivery. Same with the Orion 7 NG Clean Diesels. I know in the past, they used to repaint their Orion 5s and TMC RTS 06s.
OrionVII3032
Welp, the 9600 LFRs are starting to retire now already… 9611, 9627-9628, 9630, 9637-9638 are retired via auction as of right now.

No surprise considering all the new XD40s coming. By 2025, FFC will be among the systems to have Xcelsiors replacing Xcelsiors (unless they switch to Gillig. Is there a reason they won't buy from Gillig? I find that a little strange considering everyone else around them has purchased Gilligs atleast once (WMATA Metrobus included)).
OrionVII3032
The Orions would be the last non Xcelsiors standing once the LFRs go.
