2001 D40LF retirement

7775 also joins the other three units waiting to be hauled away for scrap.  From outside the fence I noticed what appeared to be 7725 parked in a bay on the east side of the facility.  Wouldn't shock me if that one is the next to be parted out.

It looks like 7733 has now returned to service unlike previously mentioned it was retired

There was no mention of 7733 being retired in this thread, just missing from service for awhile. No idea where you got that from….

7781 is currently the only 7700 parked outside of Stoney, sitting in the lot on the east side missing a rear wheel. Last week two red-wave D40LF’s were outside in the same lot, but they must be indoors being finished off now.

Missing 7700 situation as of July 6 2022:

7728 - 05/16/22 - changed off an all-day 302 in the afternoon

7746 - 06/15/22

7750 - 05/20/22

7755 - 06/06/22

7759 - 05/12/22

7773 - 02/10/22

7785 - 12/08/21

7790 - 06/02/22 - changed off an evening 406 with 3 hours left in the block

Additionally, 7781 was still parked outside Stoney with two red-wave D40LF's I couldn't identify when I went by yesterday.

7755 and 7790 back to service

7722, 7723, 7724, 7729, 7737, and 7745, hasn't been active for months

I wouldn’t say June 30th (the one that’s been gone the longest) is “months”

Let’s absolutely be sure that these buses are “retired” because once they’re retired they never come back into service.

Just because they haven’t been in service for a few months does it mean they’re retired.

They could be waiting for parts, repairs who knows!

I’m starting to notice a lot of these posts are not confirmed yet making it onto the board  “as retired” then “back in service”

let’s start confirming the information before we actually post it.

In all fairness to a lot of the members making posts, a large majority of these posts on this thread are reporting which 7700s have been missing in action, and not retired buses in general.  Regardless, it is helpful to note these alongside the retirements, as it allows us to know which units to watch out for, either to come back to service or potential future retirements.

Some more units have been since spotted outside Stoney being decomissioned.  In early June, I saw 7725 parted out.  A few weeks ago, I saw 7736 parted out.  A few days ago, I saw a 7700 parted out, looks like 7752, but could also be 7760.  Fleet number residue was hard to see on that unit.

7703, 7710, 7722, 7723, 7724, 7728, 7753, 7759 and 7773 are no longer listed on CT's online fleet list. However 7702, 7704, 7707, 7711, 7730, 7761, 7767, 7770, 7771, 7788, 7790 and 7795 also don't show up in spite of many of those being active recently or in service as I write this. I wonder what's going on there...

So were these buses retired then taken out of retirement?

I’ve never heard of so many buses being retired then pulled back into service.

Nobody mentioned the units in the above post ever being retired.  These aforementioned units were missing in action for several months, and most recently made a comeback.

#7719, #7728, #7762 #7765 & #7780 are all at Stoney waiting for decommissioning.

Not sure if those were previously mentioned.

7728 is indeed a new mention. 7780 was reported a few months back
