wil9402
The 45 will likely have its scheduled completely rewritten to have more buses end service at Steeles as well as remove the runs it has that go onto the 300. They could write it to have buses from 45 replace the runs off 46 that go into 396. A 2 minute deadhead from Kipling to Martin Grove is not that significant.

Xtrazsteve
8 hours ago, Articulated said: Except the schedule has been specifically designed to start from the west end. You'd have to redo the route schedule to have buses start earlier from the east end, and that would also result in a later start for eastbound trips. Yes the biggest issue is the west terminal. If they start at the east end, they'll either have service end earlier on the 96A/B branches west of Martin Grove or duplicate the service with both 96 and 396 running at the same time. The use of 46 buses solves that problem.

Also, does anyone know when they plan to begin service for it? I would be surprised if it is not Malvern. As mentioned already, it is closest to both ends of the route. Also, I expect that it will have the similar round trip time and service level as the 86D so they'll just be shifting those buses off 86D and onto 178. 9 hours ago, MK78 said: My guess would be Malvern, since the garage is roughly in the middle of the route. Therefore, the amount of service operated is similar to the other large divisions like Malvern.
Young
So when Mount Dennis runs the 89 Weston they would switch drivers at Ray Ave but now since 89 Weston is going to be a Wilson route in 2 weeks I wonder where they would switch drivers... maybe Keele Station or Albion Rd

(Even through these are Malvern Nova HEVs) I think we'll more likely to see XE40's on 952 or PM peak runs. I'll expect the 945 claiming half the XE40's in the morning. Of course the 59 will be were the Orions NGs be found. 3

Xtrazsteve
The 191/927 has been operating for almost 30 years from Arrow Rd going from some rush hour commuter route to a frequent route for regular riders. Definitely a beginning of a new era. In 2022/23, we would likely see another major route movement as the Crosstown/Finch West LRTs open up. Maybe Mt Dennis would take the 52 back after the 32 boil down to 8 or so runs west of Mt Dennis Station, one bus for the 170 Emmett and 4 or so buses on the 58 Trethewey. Finch would just be left with the 1 bus looping around Milvan.
Xtrazsteve
Interestingly the 396 Wilson Night bus is actually split with 2 runs from Mt Dennis (927 Highway 27 Express) and 1 run from Arrow (96 Wilson) which is currently done by 46 Martin Grove. The tripper westbound at 1:45am from York Mills Station is still being done by Arrow (96 Wilson) while the morning tripping westbound at 5:05am is done by 45 Kipling, currently done by 46 Martin Grove. Also one of the 329 run is being done by 927 deadheading from Steeles/Martin Grove to Dufferin.

Xtrazsteve
Nextbus was updated with the new board info at 3am so pretty much everything stops tracking on their blue night routes now so they have the old run numbers. Also the 353 Steeles Blue Night has a 133 run from Malvern.
dre
With all the route movement Arrow Road only as 2 North -South route 45 and 945 to the Bloor subway Line thats pretty strange . Since 2008 to now arrow road has lost the 89 , 35 , 935, 41 , 37 , 46 and 927 . To me the 35 / 935 Jane is hardest to see running out of different garage. Who ever picked these routes to be moved around i am guessing has never driven or rode these routes the 52 and 89 what were they thinking Lol

Because the batteries on both of their OG and NG buses may still face challenges while running on high speeds on the 427, would that be feasible if Queensway transfers some of their 79xxs (#7965-#7979) to Mount Dennis? It would be similar to how the #76xxs and #79xxs moved to Arrow when Mount Dennis opened so they can use diesels on 191. Another option would be the transfer of some LFS HEVs to Mount Dennis since they improve better on highways.
