Future Metrorail expansion

There were plans on the Blue Line to Woodbridge, Orange Line to Centerville, Green Line to National Harbor, the Brown Line which would operate between Friendship Heights and Montgomery County, and the Beltway Loop. None will be happening anytime soon because of both costs and demand. I think the most likely scenario will be the Blue Line to Woodbridge or Orange Line to Centerville since the tracks at both Vienna and Franconia can be extended our further. It probably won’t happen anytime soon but there are talks every once in a while.

right now, there are proposals of a new Rosslyn tunnel and a new Rosslyn station but that’d take 20-30 years just to execute and will cost millions will probably cost tax payers a lot

Here’s a link of a Greater Greater Washington Post over the rejected ideas.

The yellow line could be extended to Fort Belvoir, the tunnels at Huntington extend beyond the station.   Another set of tunnel stubs are located on the blue line at the Pentagon.   They were built for a line down Columbia Pike.   Those two should be done.

There was going to be a line along the Pike?
