TTC Orion VII Retirements Tracking

Do they still store buses at 1810? Seems like the building in the middle is active and a bunch of non revenue vehicles are now there. If not where will decommissioned or extra buses be stored now at malvern and where will scrap towing take place?

I have it from a credible internal source at Queensway that the EMS/vaccine buses are now being cycled through for decommissioning.

And so continues the slow, painful death of the loud hand-me-downs from Wilson.

Admins, please, don't beat me up over this... /s

8208 has been stripped, and it was towed off to scrap earlier today

Was it's engine/trans harvested for use on another bus? That shouldn't have been affected by the damage

Valuable parts were stripped before the bus was towed. The powertrain was stripped along with access panels that could be retained for the fleet

Would this be severe enough to warrant retirement?

Definitely.

Was there a plan to consolidate all the NG HEVs to Malvern and eventually phase them out if new deliveries were to happen? There are rumors that the 81/82xx VII NG diesels may move to Queensway to replace the 79/80xx OG VIIs while the 3G VIIs will remain at Wilson. Wishful thinking but @Genius101 won’t be happy if Queensway gets some 32/33xx from McNicoll.

Didn’t they balanced out the Orion hybrids so MtD wouldn’t be overloaded with failing buses? They would just keep them that way till there are down to a few dozen of NGs left. Wilson’s handful of NGs should move first.

Let’s hope the delivers complete before all the Orions break down.

How do you propose to "boycott" Queensway? Not taking transit? If that's an option for you, then feel free to do that and spare us your self righteous screeds.
