The Vancouver Trolley Company

Alright, who's been editing the Vancouver Trolley page?

A few corrections to what's there, specifically regarding the Orion I units:

- VTC never had ex-Perimeter #653 or #655. #655 was scrapped sometime in late 2007 or early 2008, before Perimeter went out of business, and #653 was already looooong gone by then. There were only three Orion Is active at Perimeter at the time of the bankruptcy in November 2008: 654, 674 and 676, all of which were acquired by VTC as correctly stated on the Wiki page. They were scrapped in late 2013 or early 2014, after VTC lost the Air Canada contract in July of 2013.

- A fourth Orion I was acquired in early 2011. It was one of the two 1990 01.507 units from Banff Transit. I don't know which one it was, but I do have the VIN number: 2x1139770L6002601. (The x is an illegible character; I took a photo of the VIN plate.) It was numbered 675. (The original 675 from Perimeter, which was a twin unit to 676, was written off in late 2007 due to a cracked frame.)

I did at one time have more detailed information about the replica trolley units, but I don't know if I still have those papers lying around. I remember most of the fleet numbers and general attributes such as fuel type and approximate age. A brief summary, purely off the top of my head:

- Fleet #s 7, 27, 37: Early 1990s, propane-powered, front engine replica trolley units on Ford chassis, with hydraulic brakes. (I believe that there was also a unit #17, but it was out of the fleet by 2010 which is the era of most of my information.)

- Fleet #17 (the second): Front-engine, gasoline powered replica trolley unit, with hydraulic brakes.

- Fleet #s 47, 57, 67, 77, 87, 97, 107: Front-engine, propane powered replica trolley units ranging in build year from 1993 to 1998, all equipped with air brakes. Most of them were on Ford chassis.

- Fleet #8: Front-engine, diesel-powered replica trolley unit with hydraulic brakes. Possible build year 1998 or 1999.

- Fleet #s 18, 28, 38: Rear-engine, diesel powered replica trolley units. #28 definitely had a StarTrans badge somewhere.

- Fleet #s 48, 58: Rear-engine, diesel powered replica trolley units with open-back configuration, equipped with hydraulic brakes.

- Fleet #68: Rear-engine, diesel powered replica trolley unit with air brakes. Acquired early 2011.

- Fleet #168: This one was an Eldorado front-engine shuttle bus type deal. No luggage compartment.

- Fleet #178: I think this one was an Eldorado National unit similar to 188 which is already on the wiki, but the bus was shorter and the door was midway back.

- Fleet #198: acquired late 2010 from somewhere in Oregon. Similar body style to 168, but there was a luggage compartment at the back. Written off in 2011 due to a fire. Some years later the number 198 was used again, this time on an ex-Tourland Travel Eldorado National Escort RE.

- #205 is ex-Perimeter 6537.

I don't like dealing with Wiki formatting, so any editor who wishes may add this information at their convenience. I have photos of some of this stuff too. If I find my old documents with further information, I'll post it here.

Thanks for providing all the information George! I've updated both the Perimeter Transportation and Vancouver Trolley Company pages with the revised information.

The VIN of 675 is quite helpful in filling in a bunch of pieces on the Wiki. It should be nee-Golden Empire Transit 9006, ex-Banff Transit 01 (since the Wiki indicates 02 was ex-9007).

If you can find your old information on the trolley replica buses, I will gladly add it to the page as well.
