A friend of mine (who doesn't have a CPTDB account) shared this image on a Discord server I'm in. 8174 was spotted yesterday in Whitby, Ontario.

[Snip!]

I spotted the same bus on the EB Queensway at Bronson Avenue at 9:20 this morning.

I cannot remember if it was here or elsewhere if someone was asking whether these buses had an Allison or ZF transmission...I can confirm they are Allison. Also, on the rear, fleet numbers were installed on the top right.

Also looks like they replaced the original fleet numbers below the destination sign with numbers in the new Frutiger font.

The following are at Thermo King parked outside as of this morning (Mar 8):

  • 8162 (plated - 418 4BL; and being worked on by Thermo King staff with its engines on)
  • 8163 (plated - 418 3BL)
  • 8164 (plated - 418 8BL; and with its engines on)
  • 8165 (plated - 418 9BL; note there are two fleet number decals at the front of the bus -- "8165" next to the destination sign on the left, and "8160" on the top-deck front passenger window in the centre)
  • 8166
  • 8167 (plated - 419 0BL)
  • 8169
  • 8171
  • 8172
  • 8173
  • 8175 (new)
  • 8176 (new)

There is one unidentified unit with no fleet number in front (likely to have been peeled off), but the licence plate reads 418 2BL -- I do suspect it's 8161.

Not seen are: 8168 and 8170 - presumably inside the building.

The following are at Thermo King parked outside as of this morning (Mar 15):

  • 8164
  • 8165 (plated, as reported last week)
  • 8168 (plated - 419 9BL)
  • 8169
  • 8170 (plated - 753 8BK, which was at 1500 St. Laurent on March 12)
  • 8171 (plated - 753 9BK)
  • 8173
  • 8174 (new, which was reported previously on Mar 10 on its way to Thermo King)
  • 8175
  • 8176
  • 8177 (new, which was reported previously on Mar 13 on its way to Thermo King)

Not seen this week are: 8166, 8167, 8172 - presumably inside the building; 8161 to 63 at St. Laurent Garage (as reported on March 13).

Outstanding: 8178 and 8179.

The following are at Thermo King as of this morning (Mar 22):

  • 8168 (plated)
  • 8170 (plated)
  • 8171 (plated)
  • 8172 (plated - 754 0BK)
  • 8173 (plated - 754 1BK)
  • 8174 (not plated)
  • 8175 (not plated)
  • 8176 (not plated)

Not seen this week is: 8177 (presumably inside the building); 8164 to 67 (as reported previously by board member Enviro_1203 that it has been delivered to St. Laurent Garage)

Still outstanding: 8178 and 8179. And given the Canada-US border being shut down, I suspect these two remaining units will remain outstanding for sometime.

First off, I think I will take back the comment I made last week regarding the Canada-US border shut down and the affects of bus deliveries.

The following were spotted at Thermo King yesterday (Mar 28, 2020)

  • 8171 (plated)
  • 8172 (plated)
  • 8173 (plated)
  • 8174 (not plated)
  • 8175 (not plated)
  • 8176 (not plated)
  • 8177 (not plated)
  • 8178 (new)

Outstanding: 8179

Question?

With the present DD Bus fleet the ones we already have plus up to 8179 how many more can Industrial garage hold assuming you remove the arttics & 40' buses  that are there now? How many would we need to fill the gap? Fleet#?

Theres no specific number of buses that would be required to move elsewhere with the new Double Decker arrivals, however, its likely that the 40s would be moved back to other garages depending where they’re needed. There is plently of extra space at Industrial depot, and if it becomes too tight, maybe a handful of artics would be moved to Merivale as there is much more space there with the Orions undergoing retirement.

I think you miss tead my question?

What I like to know is how many DD Buses can Industrial Garage hold, with all buses 40 & 60 buses not there. I'm not sure of the exact # of DD Buses OC has presently, but how many DD Buses can Industrial hold with only DD Buses parked there.

Again, I am not sure, but the entire DD fleet (151 buses) plus a bunch of artics can be at Industrial
