Welcome to Auto-wa. Make sure you ask Mike Harris about amalgamation... I'm sure he'd love to hear from you.

Getting rid of the rural bits will lose three councillors, leaving 15 conservative-to-centrist suburban wards (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24) to six left-leaning urban wards (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17).

Oh shoot I thought it was 1973. Although that doesn't surprise me they did nothing. Sucks we can't have an agency who cares about it's history

It's not the agency. It's the politicians - Thou shalt not be named...

Politicians deal with policy and budgetary matters, not operational matters (which includes communications/marketing).

Plus, there's more value in recognising and celebrating transit rather than the company, such as the 150 years of transit in Ottawa marked in 2020.

The least OC could've done was at least mention it on Twitter or do a mini celebration with a website or something. I also would disagree with the value and recognition. I think both are equally important since OC Transpo is the current provider of service. TTC, BART, OCTA they all celebrated anniversaries like that. But we're past that now. Hopefully something is done for the Confederation Line 10th anniversary or the O-Train 25th anniversary

The Virtual Museum (https://www.octranspo.com/en/virtual-museum/) marked the event.

I was shocked to find that the bus shelter at St-Laurent / Coté (8604) completely disappeared (literally) overnight. ?

Didn't you get the memo? You're supposed to get rained/snowed on while waiting 30 minutes+ for your bus. They did the same with the 85 at Carling/Ritchie despite Carling stops not being adjusted.

lot of shelters are being removed to either replace or repair. there's no way to remove/replace at the same time. its you'll also notice plenty of new shelters being put up where they once were not, unfortunately this winter a lot of shelters were also the victims of snow plow whacks, not permanently damaged but definitely in need of repair

I wouldn't be surprised if this stop is slated to be eliminated in the near future. Far too often it causes buses to miss to left turn and wait 3+ minutes to get into Tunney's Pasture.

What routes have a majority of double deckers running on the weekend, and are there more running during the summer? Wanted to know because I'd like to try and get on one but I only have the weekend to do it

The one route that i'm aware of is the 6 (select trips on the weekend) But not sure if they are being used during the winter this year.

It’s up to the operator right now, for example my run is “60DD” which gives me the option, I choose 60ft bus when leaving the garage and I believe everyone is doing the same this booking

I am curious, why choose the 60 ft instead of the DD?

I have seen some double decker buses on the 6 the past couple of times I've been downtown. But unsure of which trips.

A '60DD' run is a run planned by management where articulated buses is the preferred bus type. But if there are bus availability issues at the garage, a double decker maybe assigned.

If the bus placer gives the operator a choice in a 60DD run, then the operator will tell the bus place his/her desired bus type.

Many operators at OC do NOT like driving double deckers, mainly because of dwell time on stop-and-go routes. There are also other reasons that I won't bother going into.

Remember, DDs were mainly purchased to be assigned to long-distance bus routes where they picked up passengers in a concentrated location and drop-off at a concentrated location. Over the years, DDs have gradually been put onto Transitway and mainline stop-and-go routes.
