27 turns left on wanaki now when heading to wateridge and the return there’s a stop at Montreal/codd’s

i honestly don’t remember there even being a stop at blackthorn when heading to st Laurent but if it was removed it’s due to there being 2 stops so close together

As for Uottawa, I’m not sure I haven’t been there but are you referring to the 56 stops at templeford?

The bus stop at EB Laurier/Cumberland was moved to Laurier/Copernicus earlier this year  (iirc)

Yeah I’m not too sure when it was done, but I believe the reasoning was people raised concerns regarding Orleans express stopping and blocking the stop prior to the intersection causing unsafe visibility

I'm not sure if I had asked about this before, but in early 2010 late 2009, I remember as a kid seeing Pinecrest stations median totally screwed up from something. I couldn't find any media pertaining to it except when I came across one of JCL's video of 8960 which showed the damage I'd remembered seeing. Does anyone remember what caused this damage, exactly?

I was actually there when the incident occurred (as at the time, I was fanning Classics that were deadheading via Pinecrest Rd between Pinecrest Garage and Lebreton Station for the PM Rush Hour).

This occurred on March 22, 2010, when bus 4080 (Orion VI) collided with the barrier. How and why that happened, we will never actually know.

Below are (unedited) pictures

Great info and shots. Thanks JCL! My childhood question is now answered :)

I saw an ad on the left side of a NovaJunk bus from OC saying "A pass is cheaper than gas" with a Presto card in a hand on the left, and a black gas pump on the right, or something along those lines. Who at the marketing department thought that was a great idea to use that as a counter argument against "the car" when that same system has buses never show up at all and there are so many transfers, and doesn't actually get you anymore in a reasonable amount of time because we keep getting cuts and cuts and a stubborn commission that doesn't want to axe the 200-series routes in favor of better cross-regional or local service. Did I forget to mention no on-demand service like a car, anytime? Unless they improve these times - forget it!

Hopefully with the  election the 200 series routes will get axed in favor of more and new express routes and localized routing, the 75 is overcrowded as hell and could use more buses,

Or maybe improve and expand localized service to prevent the main issue at hand...

The only issue is there isn't enough resources to provide that kind of shift considering most 200 Connexion route series are operating every half hour. Some even going down as hourly. Along with some people who prefer not to change buses or deal with longer travel times.

I did read your comment regarding issues with the 75 being overcrowded despite operating every few minutes. I remember the days when those wanting Cambrian further down the line could not board and having to wait for the next departure hoping they will be accommodated. The 275 established to better filter demand from the mainline route which is still suspended.

It is hard to provide more service if there isn't enough resources to maintain current levels without the risk of cutting from elsewhere.

Yeah this is a big problem, at this point I'd be open to getting help from the private coach operators if needed until we can place a blockbuster order for new busses, or acquire some older buses from elsewhere.

I really don't see any "real" change come not until Stage 2 for both  Confederation(expansion) & Trim line is complete and up and running. Then perhaps we might see in a improvement in local services. As for cross regional services I dought it as they'll say use the rail network.

While waiting for the 88 @ Billings(around 4:40 AM) going to work  going  to Hurdman, a few times now I noticed a bus dead heading towards Hurdman with the destination sign West Zone 3? Does anyone know what it;s suppose to mean?

While I've never personally seen that destination sign being displayed myself, I do believe that might be a Work Bus (transporting bus operators during the overnight hours).

I can confirm Zone 3 West is one of the 4 workbus signs.

Others are:

Zone 1 East

Zone 2 South

Zone 4 Central

In that case, can anyone tell me the difference between the 899 and 898 Employee Shuttle during the day? IIRC, GPS data says the 899 runs between Lincoln all the way to Billings Bridge, but I don't think that's true?  Not sure about the 898.

Route 898 is the St. Laurent Shuttle that operates between St. Laurent Garage, Industrial Garage, and Hurdman Station.

Route 898 is the Pinecrest/Merivale Shuttle (servicing Billings Bridge, Merivale Garage, Baseline, Lincoln Fields, Pinecrest, Bayshore)

Both should be operating as a van, but buses have been used for one reason or another (during COVID-19 was for physical social distancing).

898 remains a bus at all times post COVID

899 has reverted to vans except when vans are not available due to maintenance

The schedule for the 899 has always suffered, but with Transitway closures in the west end, each round trip loses 20+ minutes due to the detours.

Per the O-Train Thread, Westboro was demolished today. I do have a question though. I noticed Westboro, Tunney's Pasture and I believe Lees station at one point had their glass replaced with silver sheets of metal. How come they had silver canopies while every other transitway station had tinted, curved glass windows with their canopies?
