Popular Post FabianColeyLOVESBUSES
The green New flyer bus is still at arrow road garage its parked inside right now. I have been informed that the ttc will use this bus to test out the charging machines and infrastructure built for the new flyer electric buses. The first new flyer electric bus is expected to arrive before the end of this month. 16
FabianColeyLOVESBUSES
The green New Flyer demo bus has been towed away out of arrow road garage on a flatbed truck recently. I have been informed the first new flyer xe40 may not arrive this week but it should be here early april if there any delays for the deliveries. 9

Plus that is for 20 buses each. The orders are only for 10.

Kobayashi
I don't know where to put this, but will the 20 BYD buses be the first buses delivered overseas from China to the TTC (although they have a plant in Lancaster, CA) since the Orion III/Ikarus 286 (Hungary) order in the late 1980s? They would most likely be built at the US plant.

Do they even build NA buses in China? Also, importing buses from the China plant will cost a fortune and it would put them behind schedule even more. Also, the Canada/China feud would make importing Chinese-built buses even harder. Bombardier 2.0?

Bombardier 2.0? BYD is building a plant in Canada, it's part of why they've been so delayed in delivering theirs for the TTC (originally scheduled for December of 2018)

Bus_Medic
They’re doomed to be nothing more than a token participant unless the political situation changes drastically. No politician, municipal or otherwise would touch them with a ten foot pole now....even if they turned out to be the long shot winners in performance. And that’s a big if. Frankly I’m somewhat surprised the 20 from them haven’t been deep sixed somehow already.
