How well are they holding up operating in those conditions say in comparison to a more line run oriented coach like a D series?

They held up pretty good, probably better than the Prevosts and Setras.  I preferred the older D series tho, as harsh as the ride was on those, they seemed a bit more robust and better suited for the mud and gravel.

Red Arrow is adding another run from Grand Prarie to Edmonton starting today:

https://edmontonjournal.com/news/local-news/red-arrow-filling-greyhound-void-another-offering-from-grande-prairie

Red Arrow is a premium service and Im not sure if theirs demand for 2 x daily service for a premium operator. Cold Shot caters to normal everyday people who cant afford huge fares, and Cold Shot did look into doing evening 5 pm departures from Edmonton but the demand just isn't their.  Cold Shot offers connections to/from Calgary on All their Gp schedules which is something Red Arrow does Not!  Ive lived in Gp 20 years and most people are cheap and wont pay for a premium service, some will and their is a demand for it just not that much.

Somebody must have studied passenger counts and felt like it was worth it... so in their eyes somebody WILL pay for it. Whether that pans out as well as they think is another story...

If you compare the current services Red Arrow provides Grande Prairie is the smallest city that they provide scheduled service too with more than 1 trip a day. Lethbridge,Ft McMurray,Red Deer,Edmonton and Calgary all much larger. Pass counts are not big by any means.

Will be interesting to see how well it works.

Adventure Charters of Williams Lake has applied to operate Pg To Surrey and Kamloops to Surrey. Adventure is an established co and should do ok with that service. They are applying for 2 trips a week. No need to go all the way to Vancouver just go to the end of where Sky Train starts smart move.then people can go wherever they want.

I haven't spotted any buses yet, so I'm assuming they're based out of Lethbridge.

Interesting that they are using the On-It branding for this service, which was previously only for commuter-type service around Calgary. Also amusing that the promotional photo in the CBC article shows a M1235 coach branded for the Highway 3 Connector, yet the service will supposedly run with washroom-equipped coaches. I would be surprised if that type of cutaway-style bus was able to fit a washroom...

The first departure of the day and last stop in the evening is in Redcliff according to the schedule online, so the buses should be located either there or somewhere near Medicine Hat. Would make no sense to base them in Lethbridge and deadhead across the entire route.

Apparently it's not impossible:

The barns are near my house in Medicine Hat. Guess I'll have to go snooping...

Probably only seats 10-20

Highway 3 connector service started today!

The Highway 3 Connector officially takes its first trip into Lethbridge today! The weekday shuttle is helping provide public transportation to roughly 27,700 people who currently have no transit access. We're proud to partner with SOUTHLAND Transportation on this pilot project. #Highway3Connector

There is a sign in the transit terminal, but it's covered up.

Here's the sign. The bus behind it was doing unrelated route training.

Off topic, but that looks like 760 or 761 in behind. Do they ever use them for anything other than training? My visit to Medicine Hat last year 760 was doing route training again.
