MiWay Nova Bus Deliveries & Entered Service Tracking

Recommended Posts

1737 did not go into service. It was perpetually tracking at Central Parkway garage until the end of its run, still on route 321.

I originally noted 1737 as in service, but I changed the message to "Never mind." after I realized that it never left the garage.

55 shows it ran 2 trips on 43, 2 trips on 87 between 16:00 and 20:00

That didn't happen. They probably just realized they had the bus mistakenly signed in onto the run around the same time the run was supposed to end.

but still restricted to tripper service M-F

Not necessarily restricted to peak service only, just that until training is complete, restricted to drivers that have been qualified to operate the Nova Buses. Peak service is usually the easiest way to ensure that only qualified drivers are assigned the bus as most peak blocks are garage-garage (no relief driver) with the same driver. There are some evening/night blocks that are garage-garage as well that Novas have appeared on.

Novas have also appeared on all day blocks but are usually always changed off at some point when there is a driver relief as often the relief driver is not Nova qualified. Training will be ramping up soon but it will take a while still until all drivers are qualified.

One op told me that some non-trained drivers got their hands on the Novas in the first few days. Is this likely?

From your first paragraph, is this also why Novas haven't come out on weekends?

I saw one on the 1W Sat night at about 7ish while enjoying my Apache burger (Couldn't get the number as it zoomed by) .  I checked transit55 and none of the novas were tracking for Sat.  Could have a tracking issue.

On the weekend? Damn, I wish I caught it; though I have yet to see one in service on the weekends, at least on 55. Still haven’t ridden one yet; never fits to my schedule (I swear they’re avoiding me). had to resort to riding OTs novas, which while we’re at it, are quite nice.

By power of deduction, I take it that the 2017 40' delivery is pretty much complete, if not already.
