ttc rider
Only 2 repair bays, each accommodating one car, can be used at Hillcrest for VISION installation work, so only 2 cars can be worked on at any given time. In practice, to maintain a steady flux for this work, there are normally 3 cars at Hillcrest at any one time, with the third usually being stored either outside in front of the shops or on the test track normally used for braking tests on newly-delivered cars. Movements from the operating divisions usually occur in mid-morning, roughly between 8-9 AM. Reverse movements from Hillcrest to the divisions usually occur in early afternoon, roughly between 1-3 PM. Work is suspended on weekends, so movements to and from divisions generally occur on weekdays only. Since the August 15 update in this thread, a total of 25 cars have been equipped with VISION, with 2 more undergoing installation at Hillcrest at this time. 4476 & 4477 are at Hillcrest undergoing installation. The list below includes in chronological order all the cars that have been equipped with VISION after August 15 until present. Next to each unit number, the first date is the date of arrival at Hillcrest and the second is the date of return to the division, once installation was complete. 1. 4581 (Thu Aug 13 - Tue, Aug 18) 2. 4580 (Fri, Aug 14 - Wed, Aug 19) 3, 4571 (Mon, Aug 17 - Thu, Aug 20) 4. 4567 (Tue, Aug 18 - Fri, Aug 21) 5. 4453 (Wed, Aug 19 - Mon, Aug 24) 6. 4456 (Thu, Aug 20 - Tue, Aug 25) 7. 4589 (Fri, Aug. 21 - Wed, Aug 26) 8. 4405 (Mon, Aug 24 - Thu, Aug 27) 9. 4420 (Tue, Aug 25 - Fri, Aug 28) 10. 4444 (Wed, Aug 26 - Mon, Aug 31) 11. 4443 (Thu, Aug 27 - Tue, Sep 1) 12. 4445 (Fri, Aug 28 - Wed, Sep 2) 13. 4401 (Mon, Aug 31 - Thu, Sep 3) 14. 4455 (Tue, Sep 1 - Fri, Sep 4) 15. 4464 (Wed, Sep 2 - Tue, Sep 8 ) 16. 4466 (Thu, Sep 3 - Wed, Sep 9) 17. 4459 (Fri, Sep 4 - Thu, Sep 10) 18. 4462 (Tue, Sep 8 - Fri, Sep 11) 19. 4421 (Wed, Sep 9 - Mon, Sep 14) 20. 4452 (Thu, Sep 10 - Tue, Sep 15) 21. 4465 (Fri, Sep 11 - Wed, Sep 16) 22. 4458 (Mon, Sep 14 - Thu, Sep 17) 23. 4449 (Tue, Sep 15 - Fri, Sep 18) 24. 4473 (Wed, Sep 16 - Mon, Sep 21) 25. 4474 (Thu, Sep 17 - present) - work is complete and the car is sitting outside the shops. ttc rider
Since the previous update, cars 4574, 4575, 4577, 4583, 4584, 4585, 4586, 4587, 4588, 4590, 4592, 4595, 4596 & 4600 have been equipped with VISION. All have returned to the divisions, except 4575 and 4596, which are still at Hillcrest at this time. Cars 4597 & 4598 are at Hillcrest undergoing installation. This leaves only five cars (4591, 4593, 4594, 4599 & 4602) in the active fleet still running CIS at this time, all of them recently confined to the 505 Dundas route. In addition, 4503 still has CIS, but it has been out of service for over a year, since August 20, 2019. Similarly, 4471 & 4478 have not been equipped, but they are off-property and out of service since the flash flooding on August 7, 2018.

Yes, both 4598 & 4599 have returned to Leslie yesterday after they had VISION installed at Hillcrest. Unless car 4602 is deployed in revenue service anywhere this afternoon (which is unlikely), we can say that yesterday (Dec 1, 2020) was the end of the 42 year CIS era on the TTC. CIS was rolled out in 1978, as far as I know. Car 4593 was the last non-VISION vehicle in service on 503 Kingston Rd all day yesterday. It has headed to Hillcrest this morning for VISION installation. The last non-VISION car in the active fleet, 4602, will likely follow suit tomorrow morning.

ttc rider
We mark a milestone today, as the entire active streetcar fleet is now equipped with VISION. Work on 4602, the last active car that was still running CIS, was completed at Hillcrest this morning (i.e. Thu, Dec 10). To recap, excluding the 4486 pilot car, which was completed last fall, work to install VISION on the streetcar fleet began on February 3 this year, with 4538 being the first car to go through the process. It took just over 10 months to complete the work on the entire active fleet. There are now 201 cars (out of 204) running VISION. Car 4503 is the last vehicle physically on property still running CIS, but it has been out of service for over a year, since August 20, 2019. Cars 4471 & 4478 are not equipped either, but they are off-property and have been out of service since they were flash-flooded on August 7, 2018.
