GMD1
Of interest is the visit of the train to Ottawa. Probably the first time a CP Locomotive has been in Ottawa in a couple of decades. One wonders how the train will get to Ottawa, Alexandria sub, or Smiths Falls sub

TimmyC62
Went to see the train while it stopped in Calgary today and where PMJT also made an appearance. The locomotives were disappointingly located due to the need to align the stage car with the crowd area - to get a good shot of the front end required more traipsing through chain-linked fenced parking lots and sketchy highway-side grassy hills than I was comfortable with (especially with the security for the PM). I do appreciate the nice CPR gatekeepers who escorted me to a closer view of the locomotives though. Anyway, here's what I got:
Shaun
How many working F units does the CPR have?
M. Parsons
Thankfully, as the train arrived in Edmonton it was overcast, otherwise this shot would have been trickier. The train was wyed, and by then the sun had come out and now the locomotives were in a perfect spot for sunlit shots. The intermodal terminal in the background will eventually become a thing of the past, so, when picking a spot to shoot this train I choose that location for that reason.
Tom1122
Any idea when the train will be leaving Agincourt yard tomorrow? Edit: I found it left at 8:00 am. Hopefully I'll see it deadheading back west in the future.

Shaun
Why is there one car with fading paint? http://railpictures.net/photo/626594/ Who gets to ride on the train?

If you're referring to the pinkish car next to the Canadian flag boxcar, it's just a scheme that looks bad from afar. This photo on the CP website shows a close up of it: http://www.cpr.ca/en/community-site/PublishingImages/tour/CP-150-train-3.png Kind of looks odd if you ask me, but it isn't at all faded. It isn't remotely close to faded. It's been wrapped, and is/will be covered in thousands of stickers written by the public as part of the tour and all of the stops. It will be left covered for the Holiday train this fall. 1 hour ago, skyfirenet said: I wonder if anyone was in Oshawa when it had a meet with CP train 113. There were a number of foamers who caught the meet, yes. Dan
Tom1122
The train is supposed to be in Ottawa this weekend. Presumably after it will deadhead west and hopefully pass through Toronto on Monday.

OCSTOFan
I went today, I'm very angry that you must have a V.I.P. pass just to go on it. It's f****ing Bulls**t. 1
tomsbuspage
I was not impressed that the historic locomotives were nowhere to be seen at the Ottawa stop, along with the cars being parked on parallel tracks so only some of the rail cars were visible. The power returned aprox 1 hr before the end of the show ! From my understanding only 6 cars were at the Station with the remaining hidden at Walkley OCR yard under heavy security.

Dan I agree what Tomsbuspage said above. It sucked that you couldn't see the whole train just a few of the cars and you couldn't go near any of them. I understand it did well in Montreal the whole train was visible to the public even if you couldn't go on it. I think it would have done better if it were at Fallowfield since you could have seen the whole train better there. P.S. It wasn't even clear on the website that it wasn't for public access. It would have been clear if it was in a larger print.

It did say both on the CP Rail website and in the FAQ section that there would be no public access to the train: http://www.cpr.ca/en/community/canada-150/cp-canada-150-train Quote All event guests are welcome to take photos of the train as our exclusive event backdrop. There is no public access or tours of the train. http://www.cpr.ca/en/community-site/Documents/CP-150-FAQs.pdf Quote Can I ride on the train? The train is a showcase piece and not available for members of the public to ride. Can I take a tour inside the train? To preserve the vintage nature of the train and carry out a safe event, tours will not be available.
