Buzz2kb
Jackson Transit Authority serving the city of Jackson, Tennessee is the only transit agency in West Tennessee outside Memphis that offers fixed route service. Its combination of silver, blue, fluorescent green (plus black in heavy-duty buses) is even gaudier than the Rock Region Metro (Little Rock, Arkansas) livery covered before. First comes its cutaways. No. 943 and 950 carries the livery of the agency's paratransit arm. They are apparently paratransit vehicles pressed into use for its lowest ridership route. No. 961 is a newer cutaway that carries the agency's standard livery. The backbone of the agency appears to be 30ft. Gillig Phantoms. Bus 940 is the oldest of the bunch, and is the only bus featuring a dot matrix headsign. Can the wiki editor add this bus to the agency's CPTDB wiki page? Thanks. Buses 948 and 956 are 2 of the Phantoms mentioned in the same wiki page. They feature LED headsigns. They are supplemented by 4 baby Gillig Low Floor buses. Buses 962 and 966 are EPA-2007 vehicles, while buses 970 and 971 are their EPA-2010 sisters. RailBus63
I happened to pass through Jackson on a business trip a few months ago and was surprised to see one of their Phantoms pass by. I didn't expect anything bigger than a cutaway in such a small city.
