newflyerinvero
https://www.oakvilletransit.ca/tsu-19aug07.html Very underwhelming for next week. Root Admin ORION Posted October 23, 2019 Author Root Admin Report Share Posted October 23, 2019 The town is going to submit an application to buy 60 electric buses over the next 7 years with the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) with which they get 40% funding from the federal government and 33% from the provincial government. 3

Very interesting. Lots of systems seem to push for Electrics now. When would the first order be delivered once approved?

Root Admin ORION Posted October 31, 2019 Author Root Admin Report Share Posted October 31, 2019 The final Orion #4101 has now been retired from service. End of an era for Orion Buses in Oakville! 1980-2019. 2 1
Root Admin ORION Posted November 7, 2019 Author Root Admin Report Share Posted November 7, 2019 Four new 2019 Nova LFS Diesel buses were delivered this morning. Expecting another two by tomorrow. Minor exterior changes at the rear with some added ventilation and engine cooling fan placement.
newflyerinvero
I haven't been able to find too much information, if at all, of any other transit items for OT regarding any asks from OT themselves for additional funding on additional service hours and so on. Has anyone found anything of interest?

And do they have the new drivers window or the conventional (old) one? 6 units - 1906-1911. 1907 and 1911 have defective SEON camera systems so they'll have to be repaired. 1908 has a defective driver blower motor, and its awaiting warranty work. It was pulled from service. I drove it last Saturday. Minor changes to the interior drivers compartment with regards to the front/side dashboard. Different logos and lights that the average driver wouldn't notice really. The mirror switch is also slightly different, now embedded into the side dash without the plate frame. In other news, 2011 NFI XD40 1101/1104 are now at New Flyer in Arnprior, ON getting refurbished. 1101 should be back within the next week or so, from what I was told.
newflyerinvero
I'm curious about the Trafalgar corridor. What dies Oakville Teansi's plan for it? My understanding was that since the Route 1 -Trafalgsr was temporarily discontinued due to not much development between Dundas and Burnamthorpe. Other than the 5/5A and the 24 up to Uptown Core and Dundas, because the 1 was temporarily discontinued, would it only come back if one of the 5 or 24 was cancelled along Trafalgar? With the 5A extending along Wheat Boom, would the 5 also be doing the same thing as it did when Dundas between Sixth Line and Neyagawa detour happend? Seems pointless to continue using the A branch when both are doing the same thing for almost a full year. In terms of fleet, I did come across a couple of photos of 1707 where the full part of its driver-side decal was gone, apparently looking like that the whole panel had to be replaced. What had happened to it? I did notice it back in service, but only via the OT tracker. Lastly, any update on 1806? Edited December 20, 2019 by newflyerinvero Additional items to include in the post. Root Admin ORION Posted December 22, 2019 Author Root Admin Report Share Posted December 22, 2019 (edited) 2018 Vicinity #1806 has returned from collision repair, which was performed by MTB, however, it needs to go back for a few more things they forgot to do. Unsure of details. 2017 Vicinity #1707 received a repaint below the windows due to paint bubbling/peeling. This is a warranty issue and I've been told more units will get the same treatment as needed. 2006 New Flyer D40LFR #6111 has been parked. It needs a new transmission. Right now, its 50/50 on whether or not it will get fixed as 3 of these 61xx buses are slated for retirement once their next safety is up for renewal. I'm pretty sure 6111 wont return but you never know. This would mark the first D40LFR pending retirement. 2012 New Flyer XD40 #1206 and #1209 are also parked awaiting engine and transmission rebuilds at Cityview in Mississauga. December 28th, 2019 UPDATE: All new 19xx LFS are now in service. Edited December 31, 2019 by Jan Boic
newflyerinvero
2006 NFI D40LFR 6111 is back in service as it's currently operating on the 28 to Oakville GO at the moment. Is it that with 1101 & 1194 being out for rebuild as well as 1206 and 1209 out for transmission refurb that these 06 D40LFRs are being retained until these XD40s return to service? doug_oak
Oakville announced at 4 pm today that they are going to a Sunday level of service on weekdays, starting Monday. No weekday service later than 7:40 pm, with hourly service on all routes except 3, 4, 14 and 24 which will run every 30 minutes. Peak only service on 11 and 12. The currently peak only routes (10, 33, 34, 120 and 121) will continue to operate. Curiously, there is no service at all on the 26 to Falgarwood – those folks will have to walk to the 20 on Eighth Line.
Root Admin ORION Posted March 20, 2020 Author Root Admin Report Share Posted March 20, 2020 56 drivers have been sent home, including myself, with pay for the next two weeks. We are emergency spares "on-call" 24/7. Most of the senior drivers chose this during our emergency board sign up today. We have also implemented rear door boarding/exiting on all buses effective yesterday. In other fleet news, XD40 #1104 has returned from New Flyer, freshly refurbished. We have also begun new presto device installations on buses, trying to get two a day completed going forward. Plan group is doing the installs, once again. Five days later, and not even a basic attempt from my property to assemble a backup pool of staff to draw from, or any thought given to mitigating unnecessary exposure by ordering surplus garage personnel to isolate off site. I’m absolutely livid.
