Taylorover9001 Posted March 24, 2017 Report Share Posted March 24, 2017 As most people here from Winnipeg probably know, almost all of Winnipeg Transit's buses are now in white, with a thin strip of colour along the bottom. Only a relatively small amount of 2001 D30LF buses are still in orange. I wouldn't be surprised if they are repainted in the near future, so I decided to create this topic to discuss which ones are and aren't still in orange, and to give notice on when they do get repainted. (The range of buses is Winnipeg Transit 930 to 949) Today I saw #938, which is still in orange. Are you absolutely sure the D30LF's are going to be retired soon? I see them every day, at least on Route 95 anyways. The D30LF's are the only buses Winnipeg has that are less than 40 feet, which is more suitable for routes that don't get used as much, such as Route 95. The last D40 in Winnipeg was a 1994 model retired in December 2016, right? It would've been 22 years old at retirement (the same as the 3 oldest active D40LF's), whereas the youngest D30LF's are only 15 years old. That's a 7 year difference. Yes, the oldest D30LF's are 21 years old, just a 1 year difference, but I think the newer D30LF's will be around for a bit longer.
