Markus163
Hello there, i'm new to this discussion board. I'm a bus enthusiast from Germany (near Dortmund) and last year i visited the US for the first time, where your CPTDB Wiki helped me a lot. For me it is always something very special to see vehicles from other continents and I guess it's the same thing to you, so I decided to share some photos from where I live with you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. HSK-KR 72; Knipschild Reisen (Meschede); Setra S 415 LE Business (LE = Low Entry) UN-WV 32; Vehling Reisen (Bergkamen); MAN NL 283 Lion's City (A21) as a rail replacement bus in Dortmund UN-VK 1467; VKU (Kamen); Mercedes-Benz Citaro G (C2) in Lünen HSK-KR 200; Knipschild Reisen (Meschede); Setra S 516 MD in Münster UN-VK 356; VKU (Kamen); NG 313 Lion's City (A23) in Lünen COE-T 2003; Althoff Reisen (Lüdinghausen); Setra S 315 NF SO-AC 850; Stehrenberg Reisen (Geseke); Mercedes-Benz O 405 in Lippstadt - this old one from 1995 is still in service! LH-UL 6; Lücke Reisen (Nordkirchen); Mercedes-Benz Sprinter MidCity at Bönen Station And the last one for today: HSK-Z 8900; Zacharias Reisen (Meschede); MAN NG 313 (A23) in Meschede These pictures show some of the most common bus types in Germany - i really hope you like it. WMATAC40LF
Those are nice photos. German buses are especially intriguing to me because of how their technologies have influenced bus manufacturing in North America (I'm thinking of Voith transmissions, early low floor designs, and my personal favourite, MAN axles).

Here are some rail pictures from this area as well. Duisburg Verkehrsgesellschaft Düwag type GT 10 NC-DU low-floor unit 1006, on duty on line 903 at Duisburg Hauptbahnhof station. The inner city tunnel is shared between tram lines 901, 903 (low-floor, street-running) and Düsseldorf Stadtbahn line U79 (high-floor, dedicated corridor). Stations feature a succession of low and high platform to accommodate boarding on both vehicles. A ramp between high and low platform sections at Steinsche Gasse station. CC BY-SA 3.0 ReferenceBK. A SNCB/NMBS/Belgian Rail AM7x DMU unboarding passengers at Aachen Hauptbahnhof. The eccentric Aachen―Spa-Géronstère Omnibus (local) line has this type of vehicle assigned to it, while more central L-routes that serve Bruxelles, Leuven and Antwerpen see more contemporary rolling stock, manufactured either by Siemens or Bombardier. Belgian Rail also operates via Aachen, in partnership with SNCF and DB, the Lille-Dortmund Thalys high-speed line. A Deutsche Bahn Regio NRW Bombardier Dopplestockwaggen, operated on behalf of Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Rurh, waiting for passengers on line RE4 (Wupper-Express), headed for Dortmund. VRR handles a tight mesh of 28 express SPNV-lines (public regional rail transit) throughout NRW, with frequencies around 30-60 minutes. The Duisburg-Nord Landschaftspark is a must-see if you have some interest in post-industrial design/planning stakes, such as urbanism, heritage and landscape architecture. Duisburg in general is traingeek-material, with a minimum of 1 train every few minutes at Hauptbahnhof, even at 4 AM. Great to see that; always been a fan of the 0405/0405G. Cool buses. Great photos! On 3/10/2017 at 11:51 PM, WMATAC40LF said: Those are nice photos. Don't forget Ecomat! Nothing beats a good '604. Are the recent TwinDexx cars replacing these, and if so, are they replacing the old cars across the country? I found it cool how they don't need a locomotive anymore; reminds me of the NS VIRM. Edit: I just realized I quoted a bunch of people from about a year ago, but hey, whatever lol.

Edit: I forgot to write some text for the pictures.. 1) COE-NL 433 at Duelmen, Station. 2) OE-FR 318 at a rail replacement bus service in Au (Sieg) 3) SI-HU 370 in Bad Berleburg, central bus station. I think the last one is still running, while the other two buses above are retired.
Doppelkupplung
Thanks for the pics. Looks like they are the Orion Vs or the D40LFs of Rhine-Westphalia lol, or vice versa Are there still many NL202/NG272s still kicking around? Markus163
Unfortunately not, they have become very rare. This year MAN releases the new city bus models, which is then the third generation after the NL202 era. You can have a look here: https://www.bus.man.eu/de/en/man-world/man-in-germany/press-and-media/MAN-Lion_s-City_-The-start-of-a-new-era-295233.html

I saw a video of a Lions City with VAG Nurnberg. Gone is the intoxicating turbo whistle.... So much to miss about both the first and second generations....third gen looks really nice though. When it comes to looks, I can't decide between the Citaro C2, Solaris IV or the new LC lol. Too much good stuff among all.

I was too small to remember any buses from there, though.

I'm heading back to NRW in a couple of weeks. I'll keep an eye for sure.

Also, you might be referencing to a Deutschebahn advertisement campaign for its "green" service, in regard of the low carbon emission and some environmentally-focused projects. To celebrate the launch of deutschebahn.com/gruen, people posting photos of the green ICE with the hashtag #grünspotting were eligible for a BahnCard 100 draught. Perhaps, because I`ve been seeing quite a few posts of 403/6/7s with green stripes on Instagram. The twindexx I'm referring to is this, but I don't know if its part of the "DB Grun" capaign.
webfil
It's the same BBD Dosto line of product as I portrayed in Aachen, except the one you are showing is the 5th generation. As for the color, I do not know if it is a wrap or not. I doubt DB changed its basic color scheme, though it is far from impossible, as we have witnessed many variations to the classic red over the past decades (with layouts of cream and navy, on top of my head, but also dark red, dark green and even some Werbelokomotiv such as AGFA, etc.). Ehh I've always liked the red and hope they stick with it in some way or another. When I think of DB and relevant colours, red is the first thing that comes to mind. I agree with you on the colour scheme though. The 3rd and 4th gen Dostos have obviously been red, but the 5ths even have matching 147s and repainted (?) 146s to go with them in the white scheme. As for the pic above, I did some research and found that they're only being operated in Schleswig-Holstein, by DB ofc. Caught that "nah.sh" text on the side of one in a picture. I suppose they're just painted in that scheme to distinguish the fact that they serve in S-H. Don't think its a wrap either, because the colours in key spaces vary i.e. on standard white ICs, the driver's window is surrounded by a grey border, but on the S-H ones, its more of a graphite blue. Could be wrong though.

I've seen some 3rd and 4th gen Dostos in the white IC scheme. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the red scheme on Dostos is reserved for RegioDB. The 5th gen paint scheme has that organic curve to match head design.
