TTC Orion VII Retirements

At this time, how many Orion 7s are expected to retire with both the 8620 series Novas coming into service as well as the Spadina extension opening up in December?

TTC has no more garage space for more buses. The Novas are here for a 1 to 1 replacement. The ordered 97+245 this year. So I'm guessing it will be over 300.

The Spadina extension shouldn't retire buses be allocate the resources used for the 196's onto other route. I expect some routes in the area to be reallocated. Wilson might get the 106 or something else back. This allows some routes to gain new improvements or maybe new express routes or simply more streetcar busitution. The express route report is due next board.

ik this is kinda irrelevant, but I got a picture of 7430. 110.thumb.jpg.e2d787c3f4388a4ab8d367642104f546.jpg

I think it would be more appropriate for it to be in sighting thread. I don't think the 7400's are at the point where pictures or daily tracking is necessary at this time.

Several more have showed up at Mt Dennis. 7424 has been stripped, ready to tow to the scrapper. 7605 is next in line.

7605 broke down at Kennedy Station last Saturday (June 10).  The service truck push the bus on the north side facing west, outside the current north commuter lot.

Some smoke from 7605 was coming out of the tube where tha /c unit drains the water out.  I guess it is a major repair issue.

Im going say 7482 is retired but inside birchmount body shop and 7792 is at Eglinton body shop LOL

I'd say its done too. Due to lack of hoist availability during the day, the techs doing the decommissioning at birchmount have been using the body shop to remove anything that does not require a hoist.

7431 is parked at the back at Eglinton near the tracks, facing south.  7687 was being pushed by a tractor and is now the same position as 7431 at noon, facing south.  7490 is parked at the back near the new Nova's, facing west.
