Gsgeek540
Last i checked, CT has no 2008 Eldorados...all have been active in the last month. I'll see what i can find out.
vicinity
Saw about 10 elderados parked in the mud pit at SG by the last few 1995 units that are being shipped to Winnipeg ....
School Bus 101
Maybe this is a sign that the Vicinity buses are coming soon?
vicinity
I would assume they should be here soon! And I wouldn't say it's a sign a lot of these elderados haven't seen the road in months ....
wt_enthusiast_photos
Are they really that bad of a bus? Maybe Winnipeg should buy them to replace are older D30LF. they're just garbage
LRT
Those buses were so controversial when they were purchased. I can't believe that there done with them already. Anybody recall how much they were purchased for?
highfive
If i remember correctly, the figure was over $300,000 per bus. Much more than the $180,000 Arboc cost. I remember when they first got them, they were based at Victoria Park and didn't seem to get the same TLC as the other shuttle buses. Someone on this board mentioned they were more reliable out of Spring Gardens.

Anyway I am told that one is sold, don't know which one or to whom, but 1621 is inside diesel so maybe its this one. Am also told that three or four are already for the scrapman. vicinity
One thing worth noting about the cost comparison is that you can probably put a lot more km's on the elderados then the arbocs!
Gsgeek540
Alot of the reason for the u reliablity of the eldorados at vic park was the parts situation. Vic park didnt have several parts the eldorados required and as a result, bandaid fixes were done until the parts were ferried over from spring gardens when the bus was finally deemed unfixable unless the proper part was used To the point of spring gardens reliability vs vic park, statistically, per service hour, vic park actually beat them out by 1/10 of an hour in quarter 1 of 2016...and has the last few quarters. in comparison of these buses to the arbocs, these vehicles only have half the life span and half the milage they are designed for. Someone at vic park diesel stated that there may be a couple of the 1st generation arbocs that have higher milage then some of these arbocs. BCT-3122-D800-10240
I don't have fleet numbers but it looked like 2 to 4 Eldorado's now parked on the east side of the building at the SG mud pit with the 1995 D40LF's that are being sent to Winnipeg. BCT-3122-D800-10240
I saw a few active Eldorado's running a few weeks ago, but I have not seen one in more than 2 weeks now. Earlier today while talking to a very new Shuttle Operator that told me that no training was done on the Eldorado's, that tells me, they are toast. 1610 is oldest one last active in this block: https://transit55.ca/calgary/bus?id=1610 dated July 22, 2016. 1616 last ran on July 30, 2016: https://transit55.ca/calgary/bus?id=1616 . Those are the only 2 Eldorado's that I could find active on Transit55.ca . Some had dead CAD systems and may have run since then, but I am doubting many more than maybe 1 or 2 lived into August at this point.
Gsgeek540
As per spring gardens diesel and bus training, all eldorados are officially done as of August 1. On my trip to Spring Gardens at the beginning of the month, 17 were counted in the graveyard (no fleet numbers, farebox or cad), 5 on the south and east fence (no fleet numbers or cad ), 1 on the north fence (fully intact scheduled to be decomissioned by the end of the week) and 1 in the diesel shop (farebox, cad and fleet numbers being removed) Eldorado training has been suspended since February. I confirmed last week some have already been shipped out. Twice now i have spotted eldorados with no fleet numbers on flatback trucks exiting the city to the south on Deerfoot.
D40LF
I won't miss being parked behind them when they were running. They certainly were noisy buses!
