Mysterious Houston buses

Recommended Posts

Here is a question if anybody is real familiar with Houston's roster from the 1990's. I have a bus master list from 2000 from Metro that shows the following seven bus numbers with no addition information except "retired":

3035

3050

3051

3571

3576

3577

3961

Any ideas what these might have been? Possibly the "3000" prefix is actually not there, and strictly in the computer for uniformity, and actual bus numbers are 35, 50, etc?

Here is 3050 (photo from the Scott Richards Collection, unknown original photographer & date). It is some sort of unknown Stewart & Stevenson Apollo T-40 prototype or demo. I'm not sure if it ever ran in service either. Also bus 3040 was a random Neoplan. I was able to write down the info from its 2004 auction on public surplus a few years back before it was unfortunately taken down from public viewing. I'm adding these weird unknown fleet numbers to the wiki now. If possible, I would love to see your 2000 master list.
