I'm just wondering, what type of shields are being installed? I just saw Winnipeg Transits the other day - they desperately needed them back home - and I haven't seen any in Calgary since i moved, but am curious what ETS is installing, in terms of shields.

As for AC, makes sense.

They are kind of interesting, I think it has something like a power window built in so that the driver can choose to put it down if they want.

They are from Vapor. As Ashton noted, there is a retractable portion like a power window in a car door.

Unrelated to the shields, the stock photo used in the Global newscast is my photo:

Not my photos, but I noticed one of my friends from Edmonton rode a 2007 D40LFR (4753) and it has new seats. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GluG5cYETZE

EDIT: Upon doing some research, it appears that ETS is installing new seats in certain buses for hygenic reasons. The new "plastic" seats are apparently very slippery.  https://edmontonjournal.com/news/local-news/edmonton-transit-scratches-dirty-spongy-fabric-seats-in-favour-of-plastic

So far there has been spottings of at least 9 Passports for sale in various places as well as #31.  Been a long time since ETS sold buses to the general public.  Mind you going through a dealer likely gets them off the hook for anything as they aren't the actual seller.  Wonder if they went through an auction somewhere, or if they were a sealed bid like the heavy equipment disposals.

I've updated the wiki pages with some of the info on the cutaways, but not all of them are up to date.

Spotted this (possibly) former Red Deer transit D40LF nearby West Edmonton Mall this afternoon. Are there anyone know something about this bus?

It is a mobile farmers' market business. It travels to various locations (parks, seniors' centres, etc.) throughout the city on weekends and even made it into a city parade last year ;)

Old McDonald had a bus, e i e i oooo

But anywhom, I'm thinking of taking a trip to Edmonton soon, and I might spend some time fanning, especially because the last time i went there, I never went north of Churchill, or really explored much beyond the mall... wanted to ask: any sights i should go see? Fort Edmonton perhaps?

High Level Bridge streetcar!

FEP is shut down for utilities work and numerous other projects, including complete rebuilding of the streetcar line.

Lots of LRT construction around if that's your thing.

Ride the Metro Line while it's under CBTC operation. Conversion to block signals really starts to get underway in mid-late August.

If anyones seen the Route discuss in Calgary, I went to the library and decided to poke into some historical Calgary books, along with the CT archive drawer.

Seems theres quite a bit of ETS in this library, hidden amongst the racks.

And if you read the first line it read "Edmonton Transit operates a fleet of more than 700 diesel and trolleybuses?

It was a "Moving to Alberta" magazine collection. They have tons more where that came from, apparently lol
