What has happened to the buses getting the orange dots on the front doors? Were only specific divisions supposed to get them or are they just still rolling them out very slowly. I personally haven't seen any yet on the newer buses.

Most of Eglinton's units have them and some of Mount Dennis's OG HEVs have them as well. I believe that all buses were supposed to get them originally but I don't know where that stands as of right now or if eventually all buses will have the orange dots.

What is the purpose of those dots anyway? I assume it's some kind of visual aid for visually impaired passengers?

It basically tells the driver that the doors are fully closed when the dots line up. The newer buses have the front door interlock feature that won't allow the bus to take off until the doors are fully closed.

I don't think they'll be putting those dots on all the buses. A lot of older buses now have front door interlock activated which means that orange dot is not needed.

I got so used to driving buses with front door interlock that having one yesterday without it I still waited for doors to be fully closed before taking off out of habit.
