I've heard that there is a good possibility that we could get another 25 new artics either by the end of this year or early next year. I've also heard that STC could be getting a handful of XD40's by the end of the year along with RTC.

8086 and 8101 are no longer at OTC. Other artics including 8055 are still there. Any idea if 8086 and 8101 have been sold or if they were scrapped with the D40LF's

I just checked ABC Recycling in Burnaby (where the D40LFs went); I saw no transit vehicles.

They were probably sent to another scrap facility. I recall a few D60's were scrapped somewhere in the Port Kells area while the rest were loaded onto barges to be sent off to Washington St to be scrapped.

That was Amix (near the Pattullo bridge), but that happened in the fall of 2010. Everything since then has gone to ABC, including our D40LFs. The only exception to this were our C40s, which ended up on Mitchell Island.

It would be odd it they only scrapped 8086 and 8101 of all the retired antics that are at OTC. I assume most likely that they were sold to another operator as it would be odd that 8055 wasn't scrapped the other antics were scrapped.

That's a valid assessment, but I'm a bit skeptical about the possibility of a sale occurring this soon following their retirement. Further, R8055 may be kept as physical evidence from the accident (mere speculation).

Wow the first bus I took on the 096 is now retired..

And as 3 more units head to OTC today, I want to point out the following:

1) There are only 4 more D60LF at STC

2) 8002, 8006, and 8010 are some of the 1998s to be kept

8003 and 8004 are in service today so those two are still gonna be around it seems.

With those two and 6 of the new XDE60's the 96 was running a full artic service today :D

As a result of that, we might as well keep an eye on 8010, 8029 and 8093 as the 'sweeper scheme artics' are going to be extinct soon

8029's gone too - just two remain!

High feeling 8056 is at OTC. 8072 was movdd to RTC and 8056 hasnt seen service since.

Anyone know where 8070 is?

8070 has been transferred back to RTC. Last day of service at BTC was Apr 28th. Was missing for some time though so quite possible it was at overhaul and was sent to RTC shortly after overhaul. Was doing route 49 today.
