What I dont understand about this new livery is why they chose they chose black (one of the heaviest paint colors) to put on an aircraft. I guess they're keen on increasing they're fuel expenses and passing out these costs to passengers.

Fuel is cheap at the moment, and I guess the lighter white color over the rest of the aircraft evens it out. I still think this is an awful choice of color scheme though.

I love the little brochure currently onboard AC aircraft right now - very nostalgic ...

Also, AC has upgraded the late morning YYR-YLW-YVR flights from a Dash 8 to an A320, a very welcome change - and WS please take note, a 35 minute flight with an A320 with FULL BEVERAGE service, heck United has full beverage service on a 25 minute hop from LAX-LAS.

35 min flight from YLW-YVR with more than just a plastic cup of water ...

Likely initial routes for the first two 737 MAX aircraft have been announced.

Air Canada outlines B737 MAX fleet plans

Air Canada (AC, Montréal Trudeau) has outlined its proposed plans for the deployment of two B737 MAX aircraft due to enter its fleet by the end of 2017. The new narrow-bodies are likely to be used on routes from Victoria Int'l to Toronto Pearson and Montréal Trudeau, and between Calgary and Halifax, reports Skies Mag.

Duncan Bureau, Air Canada’s vice-president of global sales, also suggested that the airline would look at routes into the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Air Canada has placed an order with Boeing (BOE, Chicago O'Hare) for a total of thirty-three B737 MAX 8s and twenty-eight B737 MAX 9s, with two due for delivery this year, sixteen in 2018 and the remaining forty-three by 2021. The MAX 8 is set to replace the carrier's Airbus A320-200s of which it currently has forty-two, while the MAX 9s will replace the A321-200s which number fifteen.
