TTC NovaBus LFS Movement List

Tarten equipment is the recognized ZF warranty dealer for the GTA. They look after defects with the portal drive axles.

edit: I see you’ve figured that out.👍

The Nova's use a portal axle? Wow. Is there a reason for that? to maintain a lower rear floor?

They’ve used a portal axle right from day 1.

The Nova's LFS did, or other Low floor buses?

Both. The Orion 6 used the same one. The d40lf used a different style of portal axle, with a low profile differential, the reduction is accomplished with a planetary gearset in the hubs themselves.

Cool. I always thought of portal axles being used for offroad vehicles to gain ground clearance, not the other way around. Makes total sense though, I looked up some pics of these axles.

It's been there for the past 2 days or so. Not sure why though.

It’s tracking inside the building so maybe for operator training?

It's still at Wilson with a STOP notice on it.

It’s a piece of paper with a stop sign on it, applied by a member of the maintenance department personnel for internal reasons
