A few of the 8900’s are on west end routes like 45, 46, 123 and 76

That's because they're out as RADs

3174 is the Staff Shuttle.

Wilson is an all-Orion division (except for the few artics), while many of Wilson's routes (namely those east of Yonge Street) are moving to Eglinton or McNicoll, which will be full Nova divisions. So with many Wilson drivers probably switching divisions to follow the routes that are leaving, they likely need familiarization training moreso than drivers from Nova divisions moving to another Nova division.

Every other division has at least some Novas, so their drivers would already have training and familiarization with operating Novas at least occasionally in service; therefore, not much of a need to retrain, or at least they already have the ability to train on their own vehicles.

For late evening drivers, it might be easiest to have them do a couple runs after their shifts end at say 11pm or 2xm rather than either pulling them off their regular work (and requiring other drivers cover for them), or have them come in at 9am when they're normally sleeping.

3130-3174 are now the remaining 3100s at Birchmount. They'll move to McNicoll when more 8900s from Eglinton move to Birchmount.

Is eglinton gonna get other buses, or not since McNicoll will probably take over some of its routes?

So that is why McNicoll isn’t capable to operate or maintain Orion VIIs. When MD opened in 2008, they gave them Vs and Fishbowls so mechanics can fix the buses easier than the newer, prone VII NG Hybrids. But with bus technology evolved in recent years I guess, perhaps McNicoll’s staff gave them LFS as opposed to VIIs (parts are getting quickly expensive) for the mechanics to simply maintain with.

Eglinton is only giving buses to Arrow and Birchmount (a few 88xx and the rest of the 89xx) but they won't be getting any buses in return. Eglinton is losing routes to Birchmount, Malvern, and McNicoll but is getting routes from Birchmount, Mount Dennis, and mostly from Wilson. The route that Eglinton is getting from MtD is the 141.

I’ve also heard that some Nova Hybrids from Malvern are moving to Mount Dennis don’t know if that’s 100% true though

That is definitely not true. Arrow and Malvern will be the only divisions with the nova hybrids with most of them ending up at Arrow.

There appears to be the desire to consolidate the NG hybrids at malvern over the long term. I expect at least a portion of the 3400s to migrate to mount Dennis in their stead.

Mtd was given the easiest buses to maintain. The same is happening up McNicoll. That apparently doesn't have anything to do with being old.

They also thought there NGs were easy to maintain.

Yea I think so to and also if Mount Dennis is getting the 927 and MT Dennis buses aren’t that good on the highway they would have to swap some of Malvern buses with their NG’s
