Express691
Seems like the check digit was incorrect, according to http://www.alton-moore.net/vin_calculation.html Resolvedhttp://www.cptdb.ca/wiki/index.php?title=Orion_Bus_Industries_I_%27C_VINs%
Cappy
Actually, 2B1129277C5416539, the VIN with the incorrect check digit, is valid. Carfax shows that the VIN has 9 history records behind it. 2B1129279C5416539, the VIN with the correct check digit, has no history records in AutoCheck, Carfax, or NMVTIS. Not all buses come out with the correct VIN structure as they should be. If an agency lists a VIN with an incorrect check digit, it may be displayed that way in the bus' builder's plate. It is illegal for any VIN to be deciphered incorrectly. That would have been a mistake on Orion's part. This really is a big problem because this world is not perfect, and as they say, everyone makes mistakes. ~Ben Edited July 22, 2015 by Benjamin
