501(only from Humber Loop to Long Branch), 511

You can also catch them in service on 501 between Humber and Greenwood/Connaught westbound in the early morning and eastbound in the late evening.

That's tough because early in the morning can be too early and late in the evening's a major problem for the large portion of the membership that still has a bedtime enforced by their parents.

The TTC's website has a schedule for the 501 that actually shows some of the trips to/from Long Branch which could be used with CLRV's. I can confirm with certainty that on weekdays an eastbound car to Connaught (which is always a CLRV) will appear at Spadina and Queen around 7:30pm.

The July 3rd schedule also shows:

Westbound Long Branch trips leaving Greenwood Ave:
Weekdays: 7:37pm, 8:04pm
Saturdays: 7:19pm, 7:48pm
Sunday: 6:56pm, 7:12pm, 7:31pm, 7:41pm, 7:53pm, 7:56pm, 8:00pm

Eastbound Connaught/Neville trips from Long Branch Loop:
Weekdays: 6:31pm (confirmed)
Saturdays: 7:32pm
Sundays: 6:02pm

During the daytime on weekdays there are 7 CLRVs used on 501L. One of them always returns to Russell at the tail end of the PM rush and that is indeed the 6:31pm trip from Long Branch which you can catch at Queen and Roncesvalles just after 7pm.

I can also now confirm the Sunday 6:02pm run is real. The listed evening westbound runs don't exist despite appearing on the schedule.

As for the ALRV, 4221 and 4228 have also stopped tracking.

These are some relatively recent pictures I found of 4226, the latter one being after it was scrapped. I was just wondering why in both interior and exterior photos the “6” is written in some different font. Did they accidentally number it wrong at first or was it just done in a hurry?

When is a good time/day to go to Russel carshouse to watch CLRV’s and ALRV’s being loaded/leave to go to the scrapyard?

i often see posts of them being loaded but haven’t had the chance to go witness it in person.

Roughly after 8 in the morning, or in the evening now as it seems. Not sure about the evening scrapping times

let's hope 4001 and 4003 return to service and the alrvs as well. I only caught 4002 from the swiss cars. I am glad 4002 is supposed to be preserved. I am also glad I aught 4125 two weeks ago on the 506 as well. it seems like almost every week they are decommissioning the clrvs now?

I rode 4001 during the last week of the previous board period, when CLRVs still ran on the main section of the 501. It ran okay but was in very rough shape outside and pretty shabby inside. I don't see anyone making a lot of efforts to fix this one up.

4010 has started tracking again, inside a building at Hillcrest.

4011 is at Leslie. 4119 is also at Leslie (although its tracking in the lake). Last in service on August 5 on 501. Not a long absence, but still a unit to look out for.

4195 also tracking again at Russell.
