TTC CLRV/ALRV updates and discussion

Recommended Posts

Once again, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the damage is isolated to front doors and area above the skirt. Not impossible to fix. The question is if they're willing to fix it or not.

Hopefully this (and other streetcar/car accidents) doesn't spark a bunch of anti-streetcar discussion

Considering most of these accidents are the fault of the motorist (as is what I'm hearing about this one), that would be asinine.

Is the damage to 4002 as severe to the damage to car 4062, whose accident happened in 2014 and was retired shortly after? I think 4062’s damage is much worse

Just a little bit worse...

Any updates on the ALRVs?

There are 10 ALRVs tracking right now: 4203, 4207, 4225, 4226, 4228, 4229, 4230, 4236, 4243, 4249

Many have their lights on.

Also, 4002 is tracking in Lake Ontario right now

GPS is definitely screwed up

Hence why we can't be too dependent on them all the time. A vehicle will be in Toronto but the tracker could have it tracking at Wasaga beach or something.

Just an observation, but 4207 seems to be moving around a lot. It was in the service bays a week or 2 ago then moved around the yard a few times and now it’s tracking in the service bays again. I wonder what they’re doing with it

Preparing it to re-enter service? Perhaps it is the heritage ALRV.

4002 was trolling around Russell without a skirt today. Did a lap around the yard and then into one of the service bays. Sadly the best photo I could get.

The first picture is the Easter parade info posted back in February or March. The second is the info updated recently. Notice the difference ?

There’s 10 ALRVs tracking still, yet it seems the TTC believes there’s not 1 of them reliable enough to run for 2 hours, not even in revenue service. So it doesn’t seem good

Weren’t they supposed to be inspected before going into service

Perhaps, and perhaps they failed those inspections. 4207 seems to be spending a lot of time in the service bay these days

That's why they tell you to stand behind the white line.

4079 is out on the 501

4091 is back at Hillcrest for some reason.

According to the photos I took at Russell yesterday, 4181 is sitting behind the scrap line of cars lead by 4041, with its pole down, right in front of 4182 which still tracks.

4022, 4101 and 4065 are parked on one of the western tracks behind some of the ALRVs. 4022 indeed looks very shiny and clean, meanwhile 4101 is faded, rusted, and has already had a panel removed (right before the rear doors), so I have marked it as retired.

4207 was just brought out of the service bay, up Connaught then parked in the furthest west track. 4204 is tracking on Connaught, maybe being moved around the yard or into the service bay
