Did you mean the other units are not tracking at Russell? 4204, 4207, 4221 and 4249 are tracking at Russell yard. 4230 was last reported at Leslie, however the gps cannot find its location right now. T3G
To clarify: 4230 is the only one that is presently reporting fresh GPS data. The locations of the other previously mentioned units are cached and don't necessarily correspond to reality.
Orion VI
1 hour ago, smallspy said: Since there seems to be some confusion on this..... 4000 would have been the first car to start construction. All cars were numbered and thus serial'd - the last 3 or 4 digits of the whole serial sequence - in the order of which they were started. This is pretty standard. Going by the full serial sequence - all 7 digits - 4002 was the first unit completed. The year/quarter digits were only given once the unit was signed off on as completed. Again, this was pretty common with a lot of the Hawker-Siddeley-produced equipment, and seems to have carried over to the UTDC-designed equipment as well. Now, just to make things more interesting, it is very, very likely that 4000 and 4001 were outshopped and operated well in advance of 4002. This would be logical - get them to a stage of completion (without being fully assembled with all of the bells and whistles) where they were capable of being moved and moving on their own to test out and fine-tune various things such as loading gauge, preliminary weights, springing and dampening, load weighting, acceleration and deceleration rates, etc. before being sent back to the shop to be finally outfitted with all of the rest of their equipment. In fact, there are photos floating around of car 4001 running on the Orbe-Chavornay Railway with what appears to be cardboard or plywood in the windows and bundles of wires leading from underneath the car through the windows to the interior. The photos are dated September 1977 - several months before the supposed completion date of the car. The car was mis-numbered after arriving here from the Vienna Cold Weather test center. 4001 II also operated here, but it was correctly numbered.

Of those 4, the most recent data I can see is for 4207 about 9:45 pm last Wednesday - http://webservices.nextbus.com/service/publicXMLFeed?command=vehicleLocation&a=ttc&v=4207 The others are even older! 4249 hasn't tracked since June 11! 1 hour ago, Matthew TTC 4120 said: 4230 was last reported at Leslie, however the gps cannot find its location right now. Though the tracker is active - only 12-seconds old right now - looks like it is refreshing every 20 seconds. With only one unit currently tracking, is that it then for the other ALRVs, and 4230 will become the sole surviving museum piece?

All of the remaining ALRVs were being moved around the yard this past Wednesday with the exception of 4221 and 4230 (which was inside the building).
CLRV4002
I believe they were moved in order to get 4207 out from behind 4221, it was then brought into the carhouse. 4207 was in there up until a couple days ago. 4230 was in there too, but was moved to Leslie for the Rail Rodeo this weekend. Here’s a link to an Instagram post of the Rail Rodeo cars And since 4204, 4207, 4221, 4228 and 4249 do not track, does not mean they are retired. Last time I saw, all their poles were still up and in good condition 2

CLRV4002
511 today: No ALRVs, 4 have been replaced by Flexities Other note: (Just an observation) The 301 Queen is supposed to be 100% Flexity. But I see both 4049 and 4127 ran until about 4-5 AM this morning. I also noticed in the schedule that for late evenings, when the 501 is one service from Long Branch to Neville, it’s scheduled with low floors, but on Sundays, it’s scheduled as Low Floor/CLRV. bus_7246
Every time someone sees 4001 or 4003, they don’t need to share how pristine the car looks. If every post was detailed on 4003, one of you guys would have posted that there’s a crack in the paint on driver’s side front, near the fleet number End of rant *exhales*
