4005 has been decommissioned.

Thanks! Post has been updated.

Does anyone know where the decommissioned cars go before being hauled off for scrap? Do they languish around Hillcrest, or do they keep them in the yards?

Just wondering but do they even bother leaving the retired cars to a side for parts for the other streetcars before scrapping them? We don't know if the flexitys will delay even more or not. They do that with the buses that are retired (excluding ones in process of retirement)

Edit: The first list with all the numbers, you should update it every once in a while so we don't have to dig though lists and lists later on. Another suggestion is to use a red font for those who are 100% confirmed retired and not just "maybe" its retired.

Mentioned to my wife this evening that some of the streetcars were retiring ... and she said that reminded her .. she'd been on one of the old ones with red seats 2-3 weeks ago, and she thought she heard the operator making some announcements about the vehicle retiring. So that would be 4005 I would guess.

Any word on whether the HCRY has started to put out feelers for one of each yet? While the electronics are a problem, they potentially can get a hold of a large parts supply to keep them running.

This morning I checked transee during the rush hour and I punched in 4000-4005 and only 4000-4004 showed in service so for sure 4005 is retired.

For goodness sakes, not every vehicle TTC owns makes it into service in rush hour. TTC has a 10-15% spare ratio. Some vehicles stay on hoists for repairs which can take up to a few month. Buses like 7940 haven't seen service since crashing into that plaza. It doesn't appear on Transsee in rush hour, it doesn't mean it's retired.

4151 is now deemed retired.

4206 has been a long standing service hold.

4208 & 4217 are going through the life extension program.

4239 is in for a new compressor.

Thanks for the updates! Finally, a CLRV retired that I've actually photoed <_<

Do you know how much time the life extension is supposed to buy the ALRVs? How many are going through the program? Thanks!

When they all retire, you'll have more photos of retired streetcars. :D

Yes, but the earliest units retired are more significant in my mind ;)

4250 hasn't seen service for a good long while. As of late last week, it's not officially written (mostly hearsay spoken) that she been retired too.
