soo8513 Posted May 29, 2015 Report Posted May 29, 2015 Thanks for starting. Still missing 4201 and 4249 so hopefully will ride them soon.
T3G Posted May 29, 2015 Author Report Posted May 29, 2015 4005 has been decommissioned. Thanks! Post has been updated. Does anyone know where the decommissioned cars go before being hauled off for scrap? Do they languish around Hillcrest, or do they keep them in the yards?
noahrp24 Posted May 29, 2015 Report Posted May 29, 2015 Just wondering but do they even bother leaving the retired cars to a side for parts for the other streetcars before scrapping them? We don't know if the flexitys will delay even more or not. They do that with the buses that are retired (excluding ones in process of retirement) Edit: The first list with all the numbers, you should update it every once in a while so we don't have to dig though lists and lists later on. Another suggestion is to use a red font for those who are 100% confirmed retired and not just "maybe" its retired.
nfitz Posted May 29, 2015 Report Posted May 29, 2015 4005 has been decommissioned. When? I saw it out on 506 on April 17th.
nfitz Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 Mentioned to my wife this evening that some of the streetcars were retiring ... and she said that reminded her .. she'd been on one of the old ones with red seats 2-3 weeks ago, and she thought she heard the operator making some announcements about the vehicle retiring. So that would be 4005 I would guess.
skyfirenet Posted June 1, 2015 Report Posted June 1, 2015 Any word on whether the HCRY has started to put out feelers for one of each yet? While the electronics are a problem, they potentially can get a hold of a large parts supply to keep them running.
nfitz Posted June 1, 2015 Report Posted June 1, 2015 Right now, Nextbus is showing MIA 4211 on 501 in Etobicoke and 4241 on 501 in the Beaches. So presumably both are back in service.
noahrp24 Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 This morning I checked transee during the rush hour and I punched in 4000-4005 and only 4000-4004 showed in service so for sure 4005 is retired. 1
Xtrazsteve Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 This morning I checked transee during the rush hour and I punched in 4000-4005 and only 4000-4004 showed in service so for sure 4005 is retired. For goodness sakes, not every vehicle TTC owns makes it into service in rush hour. TTC has a 10-15% spare ratio. Some vehicles stay on hoists for repairs which can take up to a few month. Buses like 7940 haven't seen service since crashing into that plaza. It doesn't appear on Transsee in rush hour, it doesn't mean it's retired.
nfitz Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 I don't think I saw 4005 on Transee for months at a time!
leylandvictory2 Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 it has been mentioned on the other thread that 4005 has retired.
bus_7246 Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 4151 is now deemed retired. 4206 has been a long standing service hold. 4208 & 4217 are going through the life extension program. 4239 is in for a new compressor.
T3G Posted June 5, 2015 Author Report Posted June 5, 2015 Thanks for the updates! Finally, a CLRV retired that I've actually photoed Do you know how much time the life extension is supposed to buy the ALRVs? How many are going through the program? Thanks!
Xtrazsteve Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 Thanks for the updates! Finally, a CLRV retired that I've actually photoed Do you know how much time the life extension is supposed to buy the ALRVs? How many are going through the program? Thanks! When they all retire, you'll have more photos of retired streetcars.
T3G Posted June 5, 2015 Author Report Posted June 5, 2015 When they all retire, you'll have more photos of retired streetcars. Yes, but the earliest units retired are more significant in my mind
leylandvictory2 Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 you should had said "Good. I got a photo of that streetcar before it turns into soup can or something like that."
nfitz Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 The TTC service summary containing the May 22nd vehicle roster indicates there are only 50 ALRVs remaining, not 51. So presumably something else has retired. http://www.ttc.ca/PDF/Transit_Planning/Service_Summary_2015-06-21.pdf (it shows 192 CLRVs remaining, so either 2 have been retired since then, or a couple aren't official yet).
Xtrazsteve Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Looks like the artics are moving from Bathurst to the 196 during the game. The 511 will get the new streetcars too. Totally off topic
bus_7246 Posted June 14, 2015 Report Posted June 14, 2015 4250 hasn't seen service for a good long while. As of late last week, it's not officially written (mostly hearsay spoken) that she been retired too.

T3G Posted September 30, 2015 Author Report Posted September 30, 2015 If anyone has any new information on unit disposition, please remember to post here and not into other threads, it makes my life easier that way Thank you!
