Two PTC and one HTC bus were sent on the 555 to cover losses from backed up buses. I expect these units to run 555 until the end of their blocks as the route is gonna be wonky for the rest of the evening.

19418 has been in service since 23rd...

I don’t understand the point of this either. This bus was reported back in service two posts before yours, and someone shared a photo of the damage to explain its 11-month absence from service.

9610 lost control this evening on Mountain Hwy SB just by Dempsey Road sliding into a Hydro Pole, taking out some small trees & ending up in someones driveway. Looking like heavy damage as well?

There's a photo on twitter:

Inclement weather - Expo Line:

Since Yesterday, Production Branch trains have been short-turning at Lougheed Station to save manpower hours as trains need to be attended.

Overheard a conversation between STAs and apparently they forgot there was a Canucks game on Monday night (leading to additional trips needing manpower at 10/11pm). I did see a few trains head to Stadium empty on the OB tracks, pick up people, and leave.

9787 had a similar incident a few years back 2 blocks down Mountain but into a tree.

Should come as no surprise:

Port Mann/Alex Fraser are closed completely due to snow conditions.

555 detours to Scott Road Station.

Expo Line is suspended due to ice - from King George through to Columbia all the way to Joyce. A bus bridge is in place.

But, but, but  - "snow" tires 🤣

Snow is clear but for some reason Millennium Line is still operating reduced frequencies (and apparently with attendants in front).

Alerts:

West Coast Express leaving 06:55 from Mission Station is canceled - significant as one train makes up 20% of cancelations in the morning (by schedule).

2222 was involved in a minor T-bone MVA at 41 & Victoria with a small vehicle just before 530pm this evening. Damage was minor to the bus where the car paid the ultimate price on the passenger side.

There was acrane lift on Pender between Granville and Seymour today.  Buses that turn on or off of Granville were detoured to either Hastings or Cordova, while through services were permitted to run through in an alternating lane.  The detours were supposed to be in effect all day, but construction finished early and service was put back to regular route around 2pm.

The 14/16/20 wound up having problems though.  Since mid July, eastbound service on these routes has been moved to Pender due to tents on Hastings.  Initially a detour, this was changed to the official routing mid September with bus stop signs and TMAC updated.  In the January sheet change, the official routing was switched back to Hastings, though were still on "detour" down Pender.  So today, the 14/16/20 were given a detour from their detour, which put them back on what is in theory the regular route.  So, when the detours were called off at 2pm, the TMAC would tell operators to go down Hastings, even though the signs indicate they should be on Pender.  The end result is that for part of the afternoon it was a roll of the dice if a bus on these routes would go east on Pender or Hastings.  I was downtown and saw a 16 turn off Granville onto Pender followed by a 14 go straight through on Granville to turn at Hastings.  Eventually, a corrected detour was issued saying the 14/16/20 would use Pender until further notice.

This all could have been avoided if the regular route had been left on Pender at the sheet change.

18328 undercut a light post inside stanley park loop. No significant damage aside from some body panels and ripped out rear door courtesy lights.

The irony is that this bus is wrapped for lotto 649 - talk about bad luck!
