4437 has been off loaded

Correct. I had forgotten to post this update here.

There was a bit of delay in unloading this car, as CP had delivered it back to Hillcrest on Saturday, May 8, but it was only unloaded the following Thursday, May 13 in the morning.

Car 4476 was used to tow it off railcar transporter XTTX 137329 on May 13 in the morning.

To recap, car 4437 had been loaded up for transport to La Pocatiere, QC on Thu, Feb 11, 2021, for a total turnaround time of 91 days.

Car 4437 had returned from Hillcrest to Leslie Barns under its own power on Fri, May 14 in the afternoon, after braking tests were completed.

In turn, car 4440 has been off-property since Thursday May 13. It headed to Hillcrest under its own power earlier that morning, and after car 4437 had come off, car 4476 was used to load it onto the same transporter for the trip to La Pocatiere, QC.

The last day of service for car 4440 was Wednesday, May 5 on 506 Carlton.

Railcar transporter XTTX 137329, carrying car 4440, had been picked up from Hillcrest by CP on Friday, May 14.

More recently, CP has delivered an empty transporter (XTTX 142012) to Hillcrest two days ago (on Saturday, May 22), so yet another TTC car will leave the property this week.

Car 4431 is off-property as of this morning (Wed, May 26, 2021). It headed to Hillcrest under its own power this morning, then it was loaded using car 4565 onto railcar transporter XTTX 142012, which had been delivered empty to Hillcrest last Saturday.

The last day of service for car 4431 was Wed, May 12, 2021 on 512 St. Clair.

We could see 4439 next week since it now 90 days since it was place on the flat for QC.

4402 could show up next week as well since it been 72 days since been off TTC property, but more like the following week.

This depends on when CP delivery the cars to Hillcrest.

4420, 4422 and 4423 could show up late June with 4424 in the first week of July.

4432, 4433, 4436, 4441 and 4442 could replace the returning cars and this depends on what cars TTC wants to ship next. This would leave 24 more cars to be ship for welds being fix and fully completed in 2022.

As to when we will see 4471 and 4478 is unknow as they are already 785 and  855 days last seen on TTC property.

Roughly about 40. It's probably a bit less than that. This includes cars that are currently getting the welding repairs done.

Oh, i thought it'd be less by now.

Doing a quite accuracy check... from the wiki, I counted 12 units sent for welding repairs plus the 2 unsanitized units. That's quite alot of units off property. Is that correct?

Wiki also shows 4 units returned to TTC, and not back in service. But 4427 has been back in service for some time.

So 29 more to ship back. Gosh, if they keep up the 3-month turnaround, they could all be back by end of 2021.

I wonder when (if) we expect to see 4471 and 4478 back.

Oops must have missed 4427. Fixed now.

4419 is missing the route it was on upon reentry of service. Anyone know?

4471 and 4478 will be like 4401; totally sidelined until the rest are done. What sucks is the fact these two units are not part of the welding batch which means it is two additional units off TTC property.

Though will it be the rest as in 67 repairs in late 2021 early 2022.

Or rest as in after 4663 in 2027 ... :)

As it stands, there are still 29 cars to be ship to QC to complete the 67 cars to be done.

This does not included 4472 & 78 that were flood damage that are being done in Thunder Bay. No clue why they weren't ship Q1 in 2020 as plan nor when they maybe ship. Most likely held up due to Metrolinx order since they have stiff back charges compare to the weak back charge TTC had in place for their order. There is no back charge on these 2 cars since they are TTC repair order and no real need for them at this time

The last cars will not arrive until 2022 in Q1/2

4434, 35 and 37 are still in the service bay and yet to reenter service.

4402, 4420, 4422, 4423 and 4424 are still in QC and everything up to 4427 have been fix and reenter service for 24 car. 4434, 4435 and 4457 have also reenter service for a total of 27 completed and in service. If you add the 3 in the service bay, then 30 have been fix.

4402, 4420, 4422, 4423, 4424 , 4428, 4429, 4430, 4438, 4439 and 4440 in QC. 4402 should be in transit to TTC next week and 4440 to QC. now  4439 should be in transit to TTC the 2nd week of June.

The last plan I saw for QQE extension, there was a need for an extra 10 cars for service on QQ.

Transporter  XTTX 142012, carrying car 4431, has not been picked up from Hillcrest as of this evening (June 3), despite being loaded up last week on May 26.

On the other hand, car 4438 is back in Toronto. Railcar transporter XTTX 142489, carrying car 4438, has arrived at CP's Lambton Yard this morning, currently awaiting re-delivery to Hillcrest.

4434 has reenter service on 505 After arriving May 04. May see 4435 and 4437 back in service this week as well

I was expecting to see 4438 sooner as it was loaded Feb 16 (110 Days now) follow by 4439 on Feb 26 (100 Days now) that was follow by 4402 on March 16 (82 Days now). Either CP taking longer to pickup or drop off or Alstom has slip in turn around.

TTC should see 7 cars return this month with another 7 been ship.

CP has picked up transporter  XTTX 142012, carrying car 4431, from Hillcrest two days ago, on Friday. It is currently at Lambton Yard, awaiting departure for Montreal.

In turn, transporter XTTX 142489, carrying car 4438, was re-delivered to Hillcrest on Friday, currently at the loading dock.

4438 to be offloaded Monday or Tuesday this week.

In (somewhat) unrelated news, Metrolinx car 6209 is loaded up onto railcar transporter ITTX 942100 at the loading dock of the MSF in Black Creek.

Don't know if it is awaiting departure to Thunder Bay for retrofits or if it has already gone through that process and is now back on property, awaiting to be offloaded.

Does anyone know?

Unusually enough, car 4438 has not been unloaded yet. Railcar transporter XTTX 142489 that was used to re-deliver it to Toronto has been sitting at the loading dock at Hillcrest since Friday, June 4.

In the meantime, car 4439 has returned to Toronto. Railcar transporter JTTX 604594, carrying car 4439, is at Lambton Yard, to be delivered to Hillcrest, once XTTX 142489 is out of the way.

In unrelated news, railcar transporter ITTX 940774 carrying a new, unnumbered Metrolinx car for the Eglinton Crosstown is at Lambton Yard, as well, awaiting delivery to the facility in Black Creek.

Car 4438 has indeed been unloaded today, June 15. To recap, it was loaded up for transport to La Pocatiere on Tue, Feb 16, 2021, so the turnaround time was 119 days.

Car 4460 was used to tow car 4438 off the railcar transporter at Hillcrest this morning. 4438 is still at Hillcrest, likely to return to Leslie tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks for the update.

Looks like 4460 will be taking 4438 spot

No car has taken 4438's spot on the flatcar - at least not yet.

Car 4460 has remained at Harvey shops after today's tow job.

Thanks.

Wasn't sure if 4460 pull 4438 off the flat or to be the car to go onto the flat since it was the only one of the remaining cars at Hillcrest. Rest of the cars were mostly in service or sitting in the yards. Based on the length of time to off load the car, maybe TTC wasn't sure yet what car will go next. This will delay when 4439 can be off loaded now.

With 4438 sitting at the loading dock on June 5, it was saying car most likely off loaded on June 8 with a turnaround of 112 was a jump based on the past number of cars. Even now, 4439 is a jump over the last batch of cars at 110 days as of today. The slippage could because longer hand off and travel time to the plant completing the work, but delivery is still faster than what it used to be.

TTC has more than enough cars for service these day until 504 and 505 cars can use Broadview.

As a note, the track layout for the King/Queen/Roncy/Queens work will see a big different change for King and the replacement of the north gate switch after cars can use the Queensway access to/from the yard.

Not sure what rock you’ve been under @drum118, but the 504 King cars had been using the South Gate access on The Queensway when running in both directions as that is where the yard dispatch dictates which track the car is to park on. The realignment of the tracks doesn’t mean tracks were removed.

I recommend you take a look at the work taking place and you will see I never said tracks were removed or would be, but in a different position. I have before shots of the area and shots of the work taking place now. All the switches are being rebuilt to match the new ROW on the Queensway

I am saying that once the cars can start to use the entrance/exit off the Queensway, the switch for the north gate has to be rebuilt as it doesn't match the new tracks south of it at this time. If you look closely at the new tracks, they are 6-12+ inches to the west and not going to bend the rail to match the switch51214342178_a6a5bf9ecc_b.jpg
