Bombardier/Alstom Flexity Deliveries

No, it sat at Lambton for quite a while and it was only yesterday (i.e. Friday, April 9) that CP has delivered it to Hillcrest.

It will likely be offloaded on Monday.

If anyone is interested, 4426 was delivered on railcar transporter JTTX 604594.

On an unrelated note - can anyone with access to the CP's tracking system tell us the whereabouts of railcar ITTX 940774?

On Thursday, car 6202 was loaded onto it at the loading dock of the Black Creek MSF. It would be interesting to know if the car is heading back to Thunder Bay or it has been re-delivered for good to the MSF.

It looked like CP was slow in delivering the car as it was in Lambton yard on the Sat as there is a photo of it heading to the yard that day crossing Osler.

I stand to be corrected as I have seen cars arrived and leave Hillcrest with the pole been wrap and wire tie to the hook as well 2 sets of rope. Have seen cars pole tape and wire only to rope only with various methods in between.

Today, 4426 only has one twin rope on the driver side and above the hock. I did not see any damage to the pole and car at this time until I download the photos I shot today to get a better look at the close up shots of the pole.

That is correct.

Car 4426 is back on property as of today (i.e. Mon, Apr 12, 2021). It was towed off the railcar transporter by car 4406 at Hillcrest this morning.

To recap, car 4426 had been loaded up for transport to La Pocatiere, QC on Tue, Jan 19, 2021, for a total turnaround time of 83 days - the shortest turnaround time for any of the cars that have gone through the retrofit process so far.

Car 4426 remains at Hillcrest for now, most likely returning to Leslie tomorrow (April 13) in the afternoon.

In turn, car 4428 is off-property as of this morning. It headed to Hillcrest under its own power earlier this morning, and after car 4426 had come off, car 4406 was used to load it onto the same transporter for the trip to La Pocatiere, QC.

The last day of service for car 4428 was Wednesday, March 31 on 503 Kingston Road.

4426 doing break testing at this time and should be in the Barns this afternoon.

Had a look at the photo of 4426 to see if I could see if any damage and saw where the rope has removed some paint at the top and bottom that will require some touch up

Not mine  and on facebook that I don't use

Railcar transporter ITTX 965335, carrying TTC car 4434, has arrived at Lambton Yard this morning. Delivery to Hillcrest is pending.

In unrelated news, Metrolinx car 6210 was re-delivered to the MSF in Black Creek last Thursday, using railcar transporter ITTX 942100. In turn, car 6213 was loaded up onto the same railcar for transport to Thunder Bay.

Car 4435 is back in Toronto. It has arrived at Lambton Yard this morning. It currently awaits switching in preparation for delivery to Hillcrest.

There are now two TTC cars - 4434 and 4435 - at Lambton awaiting delivery.

I was expecting them to show up this week if they are finally doing turn around at 90 days or less. Both are currently 84 and 82 days off property.

May to see 4436 and 4437 either next week, but not later than the 2nd week of May at current turn around. They are currently 9 & 10 day behind the ones to be off loaded this week

4438 and 4439 may take 4434 and 4435 spot on the flats. This leaves 27 more cars to be done and will make the 2022 date now at current turn around.

4425 is currently sitting in Russel yard and looks like it will reenter service Wed. Another fast turn around currently at 26 days. Only 4415 has a faster reenter time at 15 days.

Will we every see 4471 and 4478 again considering it been 753 and 823 days so far or will they be replace by new ones??

I thought 4436 was shipped to QC on Feb 12 and it was heading south on Bathurst as a dot a few minutes ago that has turn into an 505 eastbound on Dundas.

When did 4436 arrived and off loaded other than today?

4421 is spending a lot of time on the yard service tracks these past few week while 4426 was just doing an in service test in the carhouse and will be the next car to re-enter service.

Alstom is now pushing cars out faster than BBD considering 4436 was off site 81 days.

4434 is now off loaded Tuesday and looks like 4428 or 4429 has taken its spot on the flat as they show up as a dot there now.

4436 is in service on 506

As a note, BBD has walk away with only $625 million from the merger.

It was hard to say what of the 2 cars were put on the flat as both were grey. Based on how TTC shipping, 4428 was most likely the car on the flat and 4429 will replace 4435 on Wed if swap take place tonight.

Looking at 4436 history, it started to show up April 29 and Wiki states Feb 12 been ship. So was 4436 shipped and if so, when was it return?

Thanks for posting this.

Indeed, car 4437 is back in Toronto as of Monday evening, and is currently at Lambton Yard loaded onto transporter XTTX 137329, awaiting delivery to Hillcrest.

4436 was never sent to La Pocatiere. Just look back in this topic for the detailed timeline as to which cars were delivered, which were sent off property and when.

In other news, car 4434 is back on property as of today (i.e. Tue, May 4, 2021). It was towed off railcar transporter ITTX 965335 by car 4456 at Hillcrest this morning.

To recap, car 4434 had been loaded up for transport to La Pocatiere, QC on Tue, Feb 2, 2021, for a total turnaround time of 91 days.

Car 4434 remains at Hillcrest for now, most likely returning to Leslie tomorrow (May 5) in the afternoon.

In turn, car 4429 is off-property as of this morning. It headed to Hillcrest under its own power earlier this morning, and after car 4434 had come off, car 4456 was used to load it onto the same transporter for the trip to La Pocatiere, QC.

Car 4429 had sat in storage for over a month before being sent to Quebec for retrofits. The last day of service for car 4429 was Thursday, April 1 on 504B King.

To recap, there are now two more TTC cars that have been retrofitted and are both back in Toronto at Lambton Yard, awaiting re-delivery to Hillcrest.

4435 (railcar transporter JTTX 966016)

4437 (railcar transporter XTTX 137329)

By the look of things, it appears that 4437 will be re-delivered to Hillcrest first, once transporter ITTX 965335, that has delivered TTC car 4434 back to Hillcrest and is now carrying TTC car 4429 to Quebec, is moved out of the way.

In unrelated news, Metrolinx car 6203 is on its way to Thunder Bay. This evening it was sitting in Lambton Yard, loaded up onto railcar transporter KRL 89127.

On the other hand, another Metrolinx car - with no permanent numbers applied to the exterior - was delivered to the MSF in Black Creek last night, currently awaiting to be unloaded off transporter XTTX 142476 at the MSF in Black Creek.

It actually is very easy to say by simply going through the previous posts in this thread.

You may have noticed that I am putting some effort into posting factually correct info on this thread for a few years now, for the sake of having a correct timeline that anybody can refer to in the future. It only takes someone to read this topic and periodically update the wiki accordingly.

Thanks for the feed back.

I think the confusion for 4436 comes from your posting on Feb 14: "- Also on Friday, February 12 car 4436 made its way under its own power in the morning, and is now awaiting to be loaded up for the trip to La Pocatiere, most likely this week on Tuesday. The last day of service for car 4436 was Thursday February 11 on 509 Harbourfront."

As I noted for 4428 & 29, they show up grey at the loading dock like all other cars that have been ship and assume 4428 would replace 4434 and 4429 would replace 4435.

With 4437 here now, it will be interesting to who will replace it.

As a note ML 6201 is ready to be ship from Thunder Bay.

6 ML cars will be truck over to the Crosstown east end shortly to start both tunnel testing to the west as well the surface section.

4435 is off loaded and at Hillcrest. Looks like 4438 has taken its spot as there a grey dot at the loading dock at this time.

Next car up is 4437 and what car will replace it?

We may see 4439 around May 20-27 as its the next car to follow 4437.

4421 may have re-enter service on 509 on May 8 and then up to 512 to had a short day. It is currently in the service line. I saw it as a dot only so it could be out testing for Monday service

ttc rider posted in Feb 16 2021 that 4438 went to Quebec Island. How can it have taken 4435's spot when 4435 was just delivered back to the TTC?

I had swapped 4436 with 4438 as 4436 remained with the TTC back in Feb 2021. You guys are contradicting each other.

You may have noticed in the message immediately following that one (written on Feb 16), that I specified that it was 4438, not 4436 that ended up being sent to Quebec.

Again, the entire detailed timeline is in this thread. People only need to read it if they want the details.

I think you told this before, but you cannot rely on those online tracking apps to pinpoint the location of cars off-property. The tracking data reported to nextbus becomes stale once the GPS units on the cars are deactivated. As has been pointed out to you already, 4438 has been off-property since February and is actually due to return back soon. I am sure you've read my original post back in February 2021 when I reported it.

Here are the gory details pertaining to the Flexity movements over the past few days:

Cars 4435 is indeed back on property, after being delivered by CP (on transporter JTTX 966016) to Hillcrest on Wed, May 5/Thu, May 6 overnight. Transporter  ITTX 965335, carrying car 4429 to La Pocatiere was picked up from Hillcrest the same night.

Car 4435 was towed off railcar transporter JTTX 966016 by car 4455 at Hillcrest on the morning of Thursday, May 6. I have been remiss in not reporting this at the time.

To recap, car 4435 had been loaded up for transport to La Pocatiere, QC on Thu, Feb 4, 2021, for a total turnaround time of 91 days.

Car 4435 had returned from Hillcrest to Russell carhouse under its own power on Fri, May 7 in the afternoon, after braking tests were completed.

In turn, car 4430 has been off-property since Thursday May 6. It headed to Hillcrest under its own power earlier that morning, and after car 4435 had come off, car 4455 was used to load it onto the same transporter for the trip to La Pocatiere, QC.

The last day of service for car 4430 was Wednesday, April 28 on 510 Spadina.

On Saturday, May 8, CP had picked up transporter JTTX 966016 from Hilcrest (carrying car 4430 away with it), and in turn has delivered transporter XTTX 137329, returning car 4437 to the TTC.

Of note, the extra (yellow) rope used to secure the trolley pole of car 4437 during transport back to Toronto had ripped and the trolley pole got dislodged off its hook. Luckily, the original rope used to secure the pole remained tied down in its place, and there does not appear to be any impact damage to the trolley pole itself.

Despite being delivered on Saturday, May 8, car 4437 has not been unloaded yet. That will likely happen tomorrow (i.e. Tuesday, May 11) morning.
