So now that the Flexitys have been in service for a while, how are they doing, from a reliability standpoint? Is the TTC satisfied with what they got? Ignoring the frame issues on the first 66 that is.

Listening to the TTC radio, since the A/CLRV's were retired, I've heard a massive drop in streetcar needing tows back to a carhouse. What I tend to hear a bit is "panto drop", so perhaps there's still issues they need to work on with the pantograph system, but that's not on all the routes either.

I myself have been taking the 503 to & from work for a few months now, and I've not seen any issues.

4412 will be delivery to Hillcrest in the next day or so as its at Lambton at this time. Loaded July 9/20

4410 and 4418 still in the service bay and spending a lot of time on the yard service track.

4471 & 78 are getting close to 700 days off site considering they were to be here Q1 last year.

As for "panto drop", will be an issue until the overhead is fully rebuilt that is a few years off. This includes replacing all intersection to remove frogs for poles and any other locations. There is an power issue since the pans will draw more power.

4412 - railcar transporter XTTX 142012 - is being redelivered to Hillcrest by the Lambton switchers CP 3117 & 4522 as I am typing this. Currently being pushed into the Hillcrest siding.

"Panto drops" have nothing to do with the overhead power source specifically, or a lack of power running through the overhead.

The pantographs fitted to the cars are "smart pantographs", and have a retract feature if they sense that any of a number of the operating parameters exceed their limits - such as too much (or not enough) pressure on the wipers, too much lateral force, too sudden movement, etc.

They do not retract in an over- or under-voltage situation.

Car 4412 is back on property as of today (i.e. Tue, Jan 19, 2021). It was towed off the railcar transporter by car 4535 at Hillcrest this morning.

To recap, car 4412 had been loaded up for transport to La Pocatiere, QC on Thu, Jul 9, 2020, for a total turnaround time of 194 days. It remains at Hillcrest for now, likely returning to Leslie tomorrow afternoon.

In turn, car 4426 is off-property as of this morning. It headed to Hillcrest under its own power earlier this morning, and after car 4412 had come off, car 4535 was used to load it onto the same transporter for the trip to La Pocatiere, QC.

The last day of service for car 4426 was Tuesday, January 5 on 509 Harbourfront.

I thought 4418 had VISION installed in it before it went to Quebec. If not, then that is why it up at Hillcrest at this time. Otherwise, no clue why it up there now.

That mean we may see it in service late next week

4418 is already equipped with VISION and it is currently at Russell

4410 has re-entered service on the 511 Bathurst

It arrived on Dec 11 and only took 43 days to re-enter service. One of the fastest under 50 days.

Based where it was yesterday in the yard, was expecting it would/could enter service today and fail to look at it this morning.

Don't expect to see 4412 in service until March or April. We may see 4427 early Feb and 4413 late Feb at this time

Looks like 4413 was off loaded today and not tracking in normal off loaded area.  If off loaded, it only been away 136 day when it was loaded on Sept 22/20.

Tracker shows 4425 on a flat and if so, that a real fast turn around considering it was loaded Dec 23/20.

4427 finally made its way to the service yard tracks a few hours ago as it was still at Hillcrest this morning considering it was off loaded Tuesday.

May see 4434 back the 2nd week of July as well 4425

4427 has been off loaded and sitting at Hillcrest

You wrote the above on February 2, which is incorrect. Car 4427 was offloaded at Hillcrest on Thursday, February 4.

You have been relying on stale data from nextbus, which has been showing car 4427 in the same location at Hillcrest for months where its GPS had been turned off before being loaded up for transport to Quebec.

Incorrect. The nextbus tracking data for 4413 & 4425 is stale, so you cannot rely on any of the web-based trackers to pinpoint the location of these cars.

There has been quite a bit of activity in terms of movements to and from La Pocatiere, QC this month so far.

The correct timeline for loading/off-loading cars at Hillcrest since February 1 is as follows:

- On Monday, February 1, CP had delivered an empty transporter to Hilcrest.

- On Tuesday, February 2, car 4434 made its way to Hillcrest under its own power in the morning , then car 4496 was used to load it onto that empty transporter for the trip to La Pocatiere.  The last day of service for car 4434 has been Monday, January 11 on 511 Bathurst.

- Car 4434 was picked up by CP from Hillcrest on Wednesday, February 3 in the evening. In exchange, transporter JTTX 966016, carrying car 4427, which has been sitting at Lambton Yard since Sunday, January 31, was delivered to Hillcrest.

- On Thursday, February 4, car 4427 was re-delivered to the TTC, with car 4403 being used to tow car 4427 off the flatcar at Hillcrest in the morning. After car 4427 had come off, car 4403 was used to load car 4435 onto the same transporter for the trip to La Pocatiere. Car 4435 made its way to Hillcrest under its own power in the morning on Thursday February 4 before being sent to Quebec. The last day of service for car 4435 was Thursday, January 21 on 512 St. Clair

- On Sunday, February 7, CP picked up transporter JTTX 966016 from Hillcrest, carrying car 4435 away with it.

- On Wednesday, February 10, CP had delivered an empty transporter to Hillcrest.

- On Thursday, February 11, car 4437 made its way to Hillcrest under its own power in the morning , then car 4507 was used to load it onto that empty transporter for the trip to La Pocatiere.  The last day of service for car 4437 has been Saturday, January 30 on 511 Bathurst.

- Car 4437 was picked up by CP from Hillcrest on Friday, February 12 in the afternoon. In exchange, transporter JTTX 604594, carrying car 4413 was delivered to Hillcrest.

- Also on Friday, February 12 car 4436 made its way under its own power in the morning, and is now awaiting to be loaded up for the trip to La Pocatiere, most likely this week on Tuesday. The last day of service for car 4436 was Thursday February 11 on 509 Harbourfront.

To recap, since February 1:

4434, 4435, 4437 have been sent to La Pocatiere

4427 is back on property.

4413 is back from La Pocatiere and was delivered to Hillcrest on Friday, and has not been unloaded yet. That will likely happen on Tuesday due to the long weekend.

4436 is at Hillcrest right now and will likely take 4413's place on the flatcar on Tuesday.

It turns out I was wrong, and car 4438 was sent off to Quebec instead. Car 4436 remains on TTC property for now and has returned yesterday (Monday, Feb 15) to Leslie.

Car 4413 is back on property as of this morning (i.e. Tue, Feb 16, 2021). It was towed off the railcar transporter by car 4538 at Hillcrest this morning.

To recap, car 4413 had been loaded up for transport to La Pocatiere, QC on Tue, Sep 22, 2020, so it has been off-property for exactly 21 weeks, or 147 days. It remains at Hillcrest for now, likely heading to Leslie tomorrow afternoon.

In turn, car 4438 is off-property as of this morning. It headed to Hillcrest under its own power earlier this morning, and after car 4413 had come off, car 4538 was used to load it onto the same transporter for the trip to La Pocatiere, QC.

The last day of service for car 4438 was Friday, February 5, 2021 on 505 Dundas.

Car 4416 is back on property as of this morning (i.e. Fri, Feb 26, 2021). It was towed off railcar transporter JTTX 142012 by car 4531 at Hillcrest this morning.

To recap, car 4416 had been loaded up for transport to La Pocatiere, QC on Tue, Oct 13, 2020, so it has been off-property for 136 days, the shortest timeframe for any of the cars going through this process so far . It remains at Hillcrest for now, likely heading to Leslie on Monday afternoon.

In turn, car 4439 is off-property as of this morning. It headed to Hillcrest under its own power earlier this morning, and after car 4416 had come off, car 4531 was used to load it onto the same transporter for the trip to La Pocatiere, QC.

The last day of service for car 4439 was Thursday, February 11, 2021 on 503 Kingston Road.

CP has delivered an empty transporter to Hillcrest this weekend (TTTX 965335), so another car is due to be sent to La Pocatiere soon.

Getting close to 7% of the fleet being off site

4416 has been out testing a number days and night this week as an in service car most of the time, even at Leslie.

4419 could show up next week follow by 4421 this month.

Car 4402 is off-property as of this morning (i.e. Tuesday,  March 16). Car 4431 was used to load it onto the railcar transporter that had been delivered empty on the weekend in preparation for this move.

Car 4402 has been inactive for just over a month with its last day in service being Monday February 15 on 510 Spadina.
