WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY 😢

While saner heads should have prevailed, turns out that money does talk and the citizenry were led to believe that the city coffers would be full to overflowing with savings from decommissioning the trolley system. Citizens were led to believe that the trolleys would be replaced with hybrids, and the money saved from not running trolleys would fund LRT expansion. Anyhow, through nefarious deeds and empty promises, many were led down the wrong garden path.  With fuel prices and climate change I'm betting many people are wishing we had 'stayed connected' with modern trolleys.

I was looking on Transit55 today and noticed that none of Edmonton's Proterras have been used since December 23rd. I know they don't run them on weekends or stat holidays but that doesn't explain the long gap in service. Just wondering if anyone could enlighten me :)

With school starting back up tomorrow, it will be interesting to see if they make a re-appearance.

What's interesting is that it shouldn't make a difference when they run. Every day is a work day for these (and all the other) buses. However, this is ETS, they have some funny thinking going on upstairs.

For the record, many Proterras did make it out today, though on short blocks that were only for a few hours.

My route used to get electric buses all the time so hopefully they return!

Also for the record, minus the holiday reduction weeks, the bookout has been fairly consistent since the beginning of the December signup. 38/60 units peak bookout in the AM but all short (peak hour only) blocks. PM is typically less, like 20-30 units in service.
