Big CJ
I did hear some of MTA's 1993 Orion Vs had Voiths when delivered. It was a test I think to see how the transmission performed.
UpLift Vancouver
West Vancouver, BC had 1992 Orion I buses 921-929. They too had 6V92TA w/ Voith D863 - they were retired in 2010
Chris942633
Savannah Ga (Chatham Area Transit) ran their Gillig phantoms with this setup. The years are from 1987-1992.
DL1892
You can add 921-923 (1992 Orion V) from Sarnia to the list too.
Benjamin
I was going to point out if you folks knew of any U.S. transit agencies that may have had at least two different makes/models of buses with the same powertrain. For example, FAX of Fresno, CA ran both 1990 Flxible Metros and 1991 Gillig Phantoms with the 6V92TA/Voith. UPDATE: LANTA in Lehigh, PA also had three fleets of Orion I's all with this powertrain - numbered 8721-8730, 8931-8935 and 8936-8950 (the latter most being 35 feet). But I wonder if there was at least one transit agency out there - in the U.S. - that had Flxible Metros, Gillig Phantoms, and Orion I's or V's that were all specified with the 6V92TA/Voith and/or the Cummins L10/Voith (besides TriMet and FAX)? I could picture one TA as running both Flxible Metros and Orion I's with the same powertrain. ~Ben Edited June 20, 2015 by Benjamin

DL1892
London Transit 1989 Classic and Orion V have that setup. Are you sure? I know the V's did but I thought the classics were Allison.
AMG
Are you sure? I know the V's did but I thought the classics were Allison. London's 1989 Classics had Voith. The rest, including the 1990s, had Allison. London's 1990 Classics were some of the first with a VR731, IIRC.
Detroit Diesel 6V92TA
AC Transit's later 1984 and 1990-1993 Gillig Phantoms all had 6V92TA's and Voith D863.3's.
Gillig Phantom
AC Transit's later 1984 and 1990-1993 Gillig Phantoms all had 6V92TA's and Voith D863.3's. I do like the 1993 Gillig Phantoms with 6V92TA. They sounded better than their 1990 counterparts.

Gillig Phantom
It's just the way how they sounded. Best were 2813, 2824, 2859 and 2860. After they had been repowered to Cummins ISMs, I would nominate 2816, 2842, 2844, 2854 that had the best sound. I believe 2842 was the first bus to be repowered. Did the '91's and 92's sound more like the 1990 ones or the '93's?
Gillig Phantom
The 92's. Just like how the VTA 92's sounded similar to 93's M11.

Those units had Voiths? How were AC's 1984 Gilligs with Voiths compared to their 93's?

How were AC's 1984 Gilligs with Voiths compared to their 93's? Yes, VTA's 9200s/9300s were Flxibles, and yes they did have Voiths. The 1984 Phantoms (units 1469-1483) had a mechanically-controlled 6V92TA engine whereas the 1990-93 Phantoms had the DDEC (Detroit Diesel electronic controls) version of the same engine. Other than that they performed more or less the same. ~Ben Edited August 15, 2014 by Benjamin
