MCW Metrobus
Thread dedicated to discussion of coaches connected to Century McMynn Leasing. Buses they currently have available may be viewed here: http://www.centurymcmynn.com/search-for-buses/ At the time of this posting it looks like one ex-Perimeter MCI 102EL3 is available (McMynn bus number 60900). Looks to me like it was originally 805. Bus number 1832 also looks very familiar. Anyone have any idea who may have recently operated it? Perhaps Wescan or Mingdat? airwolf
60900 is ex-Indiana Jones 701. If memory serves me correctly this was ex-Perimeter 803.
airwolf
OK So I went through my own post about 60900 on the Indiana Jones thread and it turns out that you're right and she is ex-Perimieter 805. I'm not sure where I got 803 from.

translink fan
Does anyone know where the maintenance facility is? Went to the address listed on mcmynn's website today and I ended up at the end of river road with just housing complexes and a dead end.
canuck600
I can see it on Google Earth Street view at 8296 River Road. On Google it shows West Bay Marine Service directly across the road. The yard is pretty much all fenced in so you probably won't be able to get in there. It's roughly .8 of a Kilometre from Charter Bus Lines Yard just past Alexander & River road.
masseyfarm
Where did that Eagle come from at Century Mcmynn? Its on the sale page. translink fan
So I guess Premier Pacific's Prevost's made their way to McMynn? Units 185, 175, 165, 155, 1565, and 1960. Basically their whole fleet? According to wiki, units 1565, 1960, 185, and 175 were Exx McMynn to start. And I guess they made their way back? http://www.centurymcmynn.com/search-for-buses/ I had just saw Premier Pacific coaches running around down town yesterday evening too. canuck600
Those XLII's surprised me. Anybody know McMynn's current fleet size? According to the FYI from MCI article the fleet numbered 150 in 2008.

A very interesting batch of coaches. Sometimes I wish owned my own charter company so I could going shopping through stuff like this. For the first two coaches, the 2008s, they appear to have nice price tags. The only problem? They are 2008s with CAT engines, which was the first year for their DPF coaches. Those '08 CATs are notorious pigs, and I expect to see many used bus lots stocked with these units that they can't move due to maintenance concerns. Martz is a *major* east coach operator with all kinds of uses for their coaches (from over the road schedules to high and low end charters and tours). The fact that they are moving a relatively low mileage seven year old D4505 should tell you something about the drivetrain in that coach. The 2007 D4505 is from Delta Bus Lines. They operate scheduled service down through the Mississippi Delta. In 2005, on my first trip around the US on a Greyhound Ameripass, I had intended on riding their service north from southern Louisiana to Memphis through the Mississippi Delta. A lot of the route was on what appeared to be two lane roads, and I wanted the chance to see some of the deep south from the windows of a bus not on the interstate. Unfortunately, due to Hurricane Katrina I never made it to New Orleans (finally got there last year) and had to detour from Dallas to Atlanta via Memphis. When I changed buses in the middle of the night / early AM in Memphis, I did see a Delta Bus Lines coach loading, heading south to Jackson MS. As for the 1999 DL3 with the Eaton Fuller, well, you could spec a DL3 with one in to the early 2000s. Greyhound subsidiary TNM&O continued to spec their DL3s with sticks up until the 'Hound made them take some G4500s, which were their first Automatics. The last manual transmission coach I rode in the United States was a TNM&O DL3 from Albuquerque to Santa Fe, on the same 2005 trip. This particular coach is very high mileage which would make me skeptical *however* if I owned a bus company and could pick one of these up for cheap due to the stick AND had a senior operator who could still drive one, I would do it and just assign it to that driver permanently. Not much to say about the '05 E4500. MCI had most of the kinks worked out of the E4500s by 2002 (though still was kind of a turd) then they went and multiplexed the electronics in '03, which caused a whole host of problems. Not sure how many were built after '05, but I wouldn't pick one up for my fleet unless I had a bunch of them and mechanics that really knew how to work on them. Finally, the ex Lakefront J4500. I've seen a few of these on the used market. They were purchased by Coach America a few years back, and then went to CUSA in the bankruptcy two years ago. Obviously they have divested of a few coaches. On the same 2005 Ameripass trip I rode a Lakefront Coach from Ohio through Indiana and on to Chicago. It was in a then nearly new J4500 with a ZF transmission (first time I encountered one). It could very well have been this coach.
translink fan
Mcmynn now has 2 MCI 102-EL3's. Fairly low mileage for 1998's. Both just hovering below 400k Km's. The sale price for each ($25,000) seem a little low to what I usually see them going for. (usually see $65k- $80k) But i'm in no way an expert in that department. Just my opinion anyhow. http://www.centurymcmynn.com/search-for-buses/bus-details/?unit=60274 unit 60274 http://www.centurymcmynn.com/search-for-buses/bus-details/?unit=60268 unit 60268
canuck600
I see they are both listed as "as is where is" that probably means they need a lot of work and probably the reason for the low asking price.

canuck600
Yes two separate companies, Century became a partner when McMynn was having financial problems around 2006. There is still a link to Century in the "about us" section of the McMynn page.
