Big Rig Collision Sightings

Been meaning to start a thread with Big Rig Collision sightings seeing how they have Interesting Transit stuff from time to time there...

Last Saturday, saw Saskatoon 9515 (Ex-West Vancouver D40LF), ETS D40LF's 4361 and 4299, Grande Prairie D40LF CTB-0006 or whatever the prefix is supposed to be for their fleet, along with Ex-Edmonton Transit 913 (T6H5307N), Ex-West Vancouver 963 (D40LF) plated for Saskatchewan with two other ones I could see, Ex-Banff Transit #2 (Orion 1), Victoria L9029 (Double Deckers) with two others (including one in the new livery waiting for some work) and probably more treasures hiding there. Seems like Big Rig is a gold mine for refurbishing buses right now for other properties. There was some former Greyhound and Grayline units there too, however I can't recall numbers. This was as of last Saturday.

Thank you for making this new topic. It's a gold mine down there: Spotted Former West Vancouver #961 and Blue Double Decker for Midnight Madness which is in terrible condition and vandalized. http://www.flickr.com/photos/greatcoinzprod/9060460460/lightbox/ and the back: http://www.flickr.com/photos/greatcoinzprod/9058245973/in/photostream/lightbox/ and Former West Van #961: http://www.flickr.com/photos/greatcoinzprod/9057261675/in/photostream/lightbox/

You told me it was CTB and asked me to remember that, but then you never asked me to remind you!!!

One of those Double Deckers that you saw would be the Ex Oc Transpo unit that another board member posted on the board.

No, that OC Transpo one is already gone I believe. Either that or it is now inside, but it looked like the work had already been done on it when I saw it. The two that I know of that were at Big Rig currently are #'s 9024, and 9029.

I really wouldn't be taking photos of whats inside the building, you may attract undue attention that may affect anyone visiting. All the times I have been to Big Rig I have never taken photos through the door, either through the windows or if the doors are open.

I concur too D40LF. Even with a open door, I don't snap photos as I don't want to ruin it for not only other visitors (bus foamers, etc), however this also ruins business opportunities as well as at one point, I was actually a potential customer of theirs too when I was restoring ETS 22. As this is a company that prides themselves on work that gives us safe, reliable, and well maintained public transportation for us to enjoy, it's best if we don't ruin it for us all. I'd hate to show up one day and find out that they have a gate guard there to inspect us as we try to view the cool and rare treasures that come though, or even have 24 hr surveillance watching us and having the cops show up to arrest us. Lets try from taking photos through the glass and keep it to what you can view through the fence or out front so we can all enjoy the treasures for years to come.

Drove by there on Saturday.... A few workers were taking some parts off. Also spotted there Edmonton Transit System #4316 and Sound Transit #9563C. Saw the garage door open so I decided to just quickly look from the outside. Also, Greyhound Canada #1134 seems to be for parts.

Do you know what they are planning to do with 9563?

Did 1134 get wrecked in an accident? That bus was very recently refurbished, so I doubt it is retired and being used for parts.

Oh and here's a photo of ETS 4316:

I've seen it parted out. There removing some front pieces there. Also, A sign on the windshield that says do not start. Its weird as I spotted 1136 and 1138 at the Greyhound Bus Terminal looking great.

Todays spotting include: Two Greyhound coaches, one needing some minor repairs and one with damage from a head on collision. Brewster #3 is parked there for unknown reasons and looking into the back... CT 7508 has been moved there and the front of the bus had a lot of parts removed. Also Former West Van #953 is still parked there waiting to be rebuilt for Saskatoon.

There was also a white D40LF with a bike rack looking very freshly painted parked in the back. I wonder if it was one of the ones for Prince Albert Transit though...

Hopefully it is! Curious to what an ex-WV unit would look in PA livery. Any word on 963's "refurbishment" ? :)
