Nova CNG demonstrators

Recommended Posts

Also 8204 is still having issues with its power, while 8203 is running fine.

Not sure if it was running late due to traffic, but the next 72 behind it was less than 2 blocks away, so that definitely could have been the case.

So it looks like neither of the Novas went out today? Both 72-103 and 73-106 had XN40's, and 3-105 and 3-107 had #8033 and #8019 (respectively). Would anyone know why that was the case, if it was? Unless I missed them, and they did infact go out (on different keys).

Here's a couple photos of #8204 taken at Temporary Chinook and Heritage Meadows Way/11th Street SE today (Route 73-106). Greatcoinz and I spotted this bus within an hour of spotting #8203 on 72-103...

I notice 72-103 again. Ill see if i can confirm that or if it a miskey as D40LF suggested.

Confirmed. It is 72-103. 72-104 is one of those diesel nova data buses (8197, 98, 99, 8200)

8203 has been parked at various spots around Spring for a few days now. North fence, east wall, don't think they know what to do with it!

Yes you are correct. Beside the #7659.

Looking out the window at spring gardens right now, it is currently 7659 and the 3 active CNGs. I dont see any other buses. Buses with BO fare boxes and buses from other garages are often temporaly parked there until they return to their garage.

I really ought to ride a CNG bus some time. I haven't been on one since we got them. Is the plan to purchase more of these if they perform well?

How have they been so far? Any positive feedback from passengers and operators regarding them?

Yes, #8204 was parked on the dispatch fence as of 11:55 AM this morning, along with #8198, #7659, and #7515.

Crappy photo taken from outside the fence:

Found out that 8203 is offsite, the board shows Thermoking next to the number.

That would answer to the AC, or lack thereof, concerns with that unit amongst operators.
