So it should be at Brentwood right now, or almost at Brentwood. I'm on my way to Chinook right now.

3 hour loop on the circle route. Right now, it should have just left whitehorn. It wont be back at chinook until 135-145ish...roughly

Currently waiting at Brentwood. Would you know the approximate time it will arrive here?

What about Whitehorn? Or 40th Avenue/41st Avenue/Centre Street?

Whitehorn about now and i don't have a centre ant 40th because it is not a timepoint, id guess within 20 minutes. Please refer to the headways on the Calgary Transit website. http://hastinfoweb.c...GM1MDk3MjNmZA==

All you have to do is find the original spotting at Brentwood at 945 and follow the lines.

Just rode #8204 from Northmount/14th to Brentwood. Recorded a video that I will upload when I get home. Until then, a few photos:

I rode it this afternoon and much prefer it to our Xcelsior CNG demos. 8204 is much quieter than the Flyers. It sounds 95% identical to our diesel Novas in both sound and volume, with just a little bit quieter idle. The ride quality was also quite good, better than even our diesel novas - possibly because of the extra weight of the fuel tanks.

Unfortunately, the A/C on the bus wasn't doing much and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say the rear half of the bus was 5-8 degrees warmer than outside. The rear wall of seating was even worse with quite a lot of heat radiating through the engine wall into the seats. I suspect this was simply due to the operator being unfamiliar with the different HVAC controls, though the front half of the bus (past the rear step) seemed to be quite cool (maybe only by comparison).

Also, near the end of the ride I noticed there are no stop request cords in the bus, with only a couple more stop buttons instead.

I'd be much happier with a large order of these rather than Xcelsiors. So much nicer.

Here are a couple of pictures of 8204. One at Whitehorn Station and the other just outside Brentwood Station. Thanks to LRT for the original tip off!

There is no sign of 8203, I wonder if it is being wrapped.

8204 on #73 heading to Brentwood Station at about 9:30am.

To add to that, it is still operating as 73-106.

I was hearing reports in the workplace there are struggles keeping that unit ontime, compared to other novas and other 73 keys. Slow accelleration appears to be the cause. I have confirmed it has been the only 73 key late (on paper) this service day and that it was deadheaded earlier in the day to get back on time. It left whitehorn approx 13 minutes late.

Ah, that explains why it was 10+ minutes late when I was waiting for it on Wednesday. Hopefully they will do something about it soon.

Again though, unconfirmed though. Just workplace chatter. Not alot that can be done to it to improve that is infact the case with warrenty and all..

30+ late out of whitehorn.

Honestly, and with all due respect, I highly doubt "slow acceleration" has anything to do with keeping it on time. Riding it the other day, it performed very much the same as the diesel Nova LFS. If it is slower, it's certainly not significant. So you're probably right when you say it's just workplace chatter.

Nicholas, on Wednesday it was late because it got held up in traffic on 32nd Avenue between Barlow and Deerfoot because a pickup had rear ended a big rig, reducing 32nd Avenue westbound to one lane with emergency vehicles around dealing with the accident.

The Nova CNG buses have ZF Ecolife transmissions just like the diesel versions. So of course they are going to be slower along with the slower front and rear doors. The NFI CNG buses have the Allison World B400R transmissions. If they wanted a fair test between the two different types of buses, they should have been ordered with the same engine and transmissions.

I heard too that 8204 does have power issues causing problems with acceleration, however not sure if it is just 8204 or not as 8203 is not in service, if it has I haven't heard about it and I haven't seen it on the fence with the other three CNG at night.
