t_harris01
Fleet guys said the decision was made not to put them back onto the road. I haven't seen them in quite a while
M. Parsons
They were both at Ferrier on Wednesday evening. Spotted in service the week prior. Frankly, given what appears to be a bus shortage they probably needed those 2 regardless of the future of CNG until the signup this week with reduced post secondary demand. Reports to City Council indicated no reliability issues. More often than not, when I went looking for a CNG in it's usual haunts, I'd find them. BCT-3122-D800-10240
And to add to my earlier post, 6008 is in S.E. Calgary at Big Rig Collision. Spotted it there today.
t_harris01
Well as I said I was informed they will not see service. I'm doing the 80/04 Mondays usually is a CNG. It won't be
M. Parsons
I'm not disputing they were pulled from service, just largely the assertion that they were unreliable. Calgary has stated too that the CNG's have been reliable. The delicious irony is that the CNG test was initiated by council (as was the hybrids for that matter), while the BYD's came from within Transit. Administration has been negative towards the CNG's and certainly stopped promoting hybrids once the trolleys were dead... yet, they're recommending the electric buses. Are you on during the midday? I frequent that route to patronize a hobby shop. Ernie still on the 80?
t_harris01
I start just after 1300 towards Capilano on Mondays And I'll find out tomorrow if Ernie is still on the

t_harris01
Well I was just passing on info I received when I went to check to see if 80/04 was still CNG. I was told they were not going to be operating them and that someone is buying them

M. Parsons
Edmonton? Test buses? Surely you jest! That's Calgary thinking! Blasphemy!
M. Parsons
The CNG buses have NOT been sold to Medicine Hat. Not until June 30 anyways. A recommendation is coming to the Executive Committee on June 30th for the sale of the 2 buses to Medicine Hat for about $305000 each. Apparently New Flyer brokered a deal to a California property, however, it wasn't feasible with the exchange rate and shipping.

GrandeWest_B35G
Reviving a dead thread here, but 6007 and 6008 (now Medicine Hat Transit 760 and 761) are running good. 761 is a little squeeky, though. Will get pics soon.
