Where do you guys come up with this shit?

People need to stop being overly obsessed with the TTC on every inch of what goes on and go out of town or get a job. hopefully you never see many of these kids while working.

Would anyone happen to know what about the wheelchair lift installation on the ex-Utah GMs required that the little window just past the front doors filled in? Some equipment stored back there?

I wouldn’t know for sure exactly what Utah made of that window, but the GM articulated buses were delivered with that window on both sides, then some years later the window on the curb side was replaced with a panel. From info off other sites, TTC never utilized the lifts on the ex-Utah buses

Does anyone remember which 1975 GM buses (8010-8117) did receive black and yellow roll signs? Either from memory or online photos, I can think of these units:

8017, 8022, 8030, 8035, 8037, 8040, 8042, 8051, 8056, 8058, 8064, 8068, 8073, 8074, 8075, 8086, 8089, 8100, 8106, 8111, 8112.

Any more?

I havent logged into my account in ages because I work and only saw this post now.

That's incredibly rude. I'm not "obsessed" as you put it and was simply asking about the status of a vehicle that the TTC itself has deemed historically relevant.

I'm an operator for a transit agency and not some "kid". Thank you very much.

It's not towards you. I do apologise if that feels that way.

Just ignore "TTC 9701" like most of us already do on here.

Fleet Manager has a list of vehicles that entered service dated April 2000:
https://web.archive.org/web/20010603205821/http://fleetmanager.tripod.com:80/BusList.pdf

Since the list is exhaustive, I will have to use Arrow Road units to make it easier. Anyone here should add this info from here and the document on the wiki. @Articulated and @Xtrazsteve could use some help here if needed.

From a email that @6254 sent me today.

It would appear #8942, a Birchmount bus, was the first Fishbowl and TTC bus overall to receive the new CLRV livery without the grey sides in November 1995. It was used as a donation Christmas bus at Kennedy a month later. Perhaps somebody has to edit the wiki.

Was 8960 the second bus to received the new livery?  If so, which division was this bus based?  I remember seeing 8942 and 8960 in a new livery around in the mid 1990's.

Fleet numbers can really show someone's age. I thought of the Nova's when reading the unit. ?

I found an hour long video from 1992 (looks to be a home video) where ex TTC 7523's "farewell tour of toronto" occurs. In the video, it starts at a garage on a hoist, receiving small repairs (looks to be harvey?), then goes through a wash, and circulates throughout Toronto, tracing the path of various routes, entering different garages/carhouses and even what looks to be going on a route out of a BD station. I think it's retired in the video, and is in the hands of private owners. At the end, the owners switch out the Ontario plates for California ones, and drive into the US, and visit a bus company there. My question is, can a private owner of a former TTC bus drive through TTC property if there are no TTC decals on the bus? (Obviously not, but can they get permission to do this?)

I'll have to watch this end to end later because of the running time of the video, but what I can say about what they did in it, you need to consider how different the TTC and Toronto, and world in general of 1992 was compared to what we're stuck with now 29 years later.

But damn, a minute and a half in, Feb 27, 1992 on the west side of Avenue Rd. at Otter loop looking up past Havergal towards Lawrence, that's heartbreaking.  The wires are all still there.  This Fishbowl was probably the last red and cream bus to come down the road there since the Flyers had been kiboshed two months earlier.

Yeah, pre 9/11, pre WTC bombing, even pre Oklahoma City bombing. Not to mention transit involved ones like 7/7 in London. I meant to ask if it was allowed then, not now.
