general682002
I don't like the ZUM/BT XDE40/XD40 HVAC design because you can only mount the AA sign behind the driver's panel. The ZUM Artics corrected this problem by using the MiLocal XD40 and EPA2010 D40LFR style vent. I think this vent is superior as it allows for the central mounted AA. I don't know if you ridden Brampton 12XX series, they've moved their AA to centre, under the HVAC now! But the B400R is the most economical, considering that most organizations either use Voith or Allison. You don't hear as much about ZF. I've told the ZF are more reliable and better mileage than Allison.

I've told the ZF are more reliable and better mileage than Allison. Nope I have not. So it seems from late 2011 onwards (cause MiLocal's are like this), they changed to this style vent which IMO is the better one anyway.

blaisen1
NFI has quite a backlog anyway, january would be pretty optimistic
D4500
Why so back logged? are they going to be able to deliver on time?
GRT21101
They better deliver the buses on time, that would be such a disappointment if they didn't considering that it has been 10 years since GRT ordered from NFI. BAD IMPRESSION MUCH!
Bus_Medic
small order...BIG ORDER. Which, as a buisness would you build first?
D4500
I would think that they would deliver them in order, first-in, first-out.

smallspy
I would think that they would deliver them in order, first-in, first-out. Yeah I think the same thing you do... Well, you would both think wrong. An order specifies a number of different things: number of vehicles, their configuration, but also the date of delivery. Some properties want their buses early in the year, so that they have the time to set them up and break them in gently before they need them for service after the summer. Others want them in the summer so that they aren't paying to store excess equipment. And still others just don't care. As long as they get them within a reasonable time, they're happy. GRT21101
Once again, can anyone guess the specs of the new buses... i.e/ Allison over ZF or Voith?
general682002
Why guess when you can just email the Region of Waterloo and request them to email you the tender documents. This is the file to quote in the email "P2012-22" Seriously, I don't understand why people are guessing where the people do work, can't ask another staff who does maintenance on the buses. Otherwise, please wait!
GRT21101
A driver just told me that we will be getting 16 by april and 17 in july... who is right? we are also saving up to $10,000,000 because we went to New Flyer! vivablue5215
A driver just told me that we will be getting 16 by april and 17 in july... who is right? Many drivers are as good of a resource as that random guy on the street. NFI already made it official that it's 18. we are also saving up to $10,000,000 because we went to New Flyer! And that's a good thing because...? What if they turn out to be more unreliable? It's one thing to purchase a cheaper bus; it's another to maintain it.
