vivablue5215
Just you wait nova lovers. New Flyer has gone a long way since the 9400 and 2200 series buses. The 2200s have always been nice buses IMO.

GRT21101
The 2200s have always been nice buses IMO.Something that l find to be really stupid with the 2004/05 Nova's is that they are falling apart faster than the 9400's. Within 4 or 5 years, they were just as noisy on the inside with everything rattling on the ceiling and the doors. That's NOT GOOD, at least the Flyers took like 10 or 11 years to become that bad

Transit 20
hi everybody needs to remmeber the most of the 24xx and 25xx were only on ixpress that really killed them the 26xx are getting bad also.
GRT21101
I totally agree about the quality of the Nova's. You can add the 2600's to list - they're horrendous. The 2400's should be due for refurb soon though!Thank GOD! Although they didn't do a very good job of refurbishing the 94's, they are still horrendously loud and rattley!Thank GOD! Although they didn't do a very good job of refurbishing the 94's, they are still horrendously loud and rattley! It will be interesting how good of a job they will do on the Nova's
vivablue5215
I don't know what kind of cool-aid some of you guys are drinking, but I want some of it. Transit 5 nailed it mostly: The 24xx were used on iXpress services, some literally 6-7 days a week. It wasn't until when the 209xx came in where they started being used slightly less, but many of them were still out on other routes 5+ days a week. The 94xx and 22xx never got that treatment, so it's unfair to compare it on the basis of it falling apart faster. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if some of the 24xx have racked more mileage than the 94xx at this point. Speaking of falling apart...I really wanna know where some of you are getting this from. The 24xx, in my opinion, and in 98% of drivers I talk to, are THE BEST BUSES IN THE GRT FLEET RIGHT NOW. They accelerate fast, the doors open and close fast, and they can maintain good speeds on demanding routes such as the 200. I haven't seen any major resemblance of the 24xx buses "falling apart" aside from minor rattling problems (hey, many buses have that...), especially since they were taken away from iXpress service. In fact, ever wonder when the 209xx were introduced, the iXpress reliability started going downhill? Hmm... The 26xx are similar to the 24xx, but with a mechanism installed in the ZF transmission to make it accelerate slightly slower. If you think the 26xx here are bad, try riding Brampton's. Those things are just...I'm not even gonna talk about it. I will agree though that the 94xx are overdue for retirement, but with the rapid expansion of GRT service in the next several years expect them to stay on for a bit longer. Plus, there's still the 92xx... You wanna know what I think are the buses that are falling apart? The 23xx...and the 209xx. Yeah, those lemons which simply can't go over 90 on the highway (basing this on the 209xx), and the ones that accelerate slower than me walking... Transit 20
yep the 209xx are one of the worst buses grt got i seen one today that should not be on road the dark smoke coming out of the back is somthing im suprise it hasnt been caught the 23xx are slowy getting better i was on 2 today and there faster then normal by far the worst novas i have is 530-31 like the drivers say everything is back wards i hope they will get retired soon. Number12
The 2400's are the best of the Novas by far. viva5215 has that exactly correct. So there are a few rattles, big deal. The 2300's are the worst. 9200's just as bad. The smoking bus is 20905 and it smokes like a steam train even at idle.

D4500
Hey, you wanna know which buses are the best? The ones with 7 wheels that stop and go when they should. As long as the bus is running it's a good bus.
