  • Vehicle should occupy the majority of the frame, be centered in the photo, and be the main focus

  • The photo should preferably show the entire front and one side of the vehicle or the entire rear and one side of the vehicle if a photo that shows the front is already available. Photos showing side detail are also permitted as long as the vehicle is centered in the shot

  • Photos taken in sunlight should have both viewed sides of the vehicle in direct sunlight when possible, or minimal shadows that do not interfere with the viewing of the vehicle details.

  • The entire vehicle should be visible, i.e. not cut off by the edge of the photograph, or be partially obstructed by objects

  • Watermarks are permitted, but should be minimal and not detract from the photo.

  • Pictures should be of good quality, i.e. no blurring or low pixelation

Agree entirely, but I would suggest that photos of retired or otherwise very rare buses should be allowed, regardless of quality, if no better quality photos exist. It's better to have a photo than not, in my book.

Agreed with the above - if there is only one photo of a particular interesting bus, I'd rather see it than not have the photo.

That being said, it should be clear too. I don't want a picture of just the rear door saying that the bus is super rare.

Seems pathetic that only 9 members have voted so far. But they have had their chance and should this be implented they can't complain.

What if its a pole, or transparent bus shack? Or something that isnt a building or a semi-truck?

Otherwise, definitely agree.

The point of having photos on the Wiki is to show what the vehicle looks like. If it's blocked by a pole or shelter, that's not showing what the vehicle looks like; it's showing what the pole or shelter and part of a vehicle looks like.

Oh, on some other note, we need to include rail vehicles (subway trains, streetcars, etc.) in that topic too. GO Trains may be harder to photograph since they run through some areas where trees might obstruct the photographer's view, especially in east end Scarborough along the Lakeshore East line.

My understanding was that the photographic standards would apply to all photos, trains, buses, ferries, and planes. When there is forethought put into the photo's composition then anything thing is possible so obstuctions can be avoided.
